I really wish our shitty fans and alters would stop bad mouthing our recruits. Who moderates this board anymore.
Personal attacks on recruits used to get you banned. Who's asleep at the wheel ?

I think he’s just playing the game. I know I’d definitely play these schools for as much as I could possibly get and then commit to the school I’ve always wanted to begin with. That’s the game we are in now. It’s been this way for a long time and it isn’t going to change. I don’t know why our fans freak the hell out every single year.

What’s most important is that we see a clear difference from last year’s defense to this year’s defense. If LSU can do that, I’m not worried about recruiting at all. If we don’t show improvement, I’ll start to worry. This staff is one of the best recruiting staffs in the SEC. We will get the guys we need in the end, if we perform well.

there is no lack of attention. These kids are getting poached, and when you get poached, the poacher is always going to go way harder than the guy who already has you. If you don't think they are keeping in touch, you have to be a fool.

There are a laundry list of Louisiana players who were foolish and spurned LSU in the last 3 years, when LSU had open spots for them, that have done little to nothing at the schools they went to. Jardin Gilbert initially spurned LSU and just recently said on a Matt Mascona interview that he regrets making that stupid decision.

So many of these kids cant see the forest for the trees. They can't see the fact that Kelly is grabbing, DEVELOPERS! Everybody on that staff are developers of talent. All of them. The amount of 3 star and low 4 star talent that these guys have developed are numerous. While Sloan hasn't had the chance to develop a 3 star kid, he has improved tremendously, two QBs that had serious problems in their games. Nuss is going to have another single season that will place him in the top 5 all time at LSU.

That's why im loving that we have guys who can find the diamonds too. If you want to leave the state, then good luck to you until you play LSU, however, with the coaches we have, they know exactly what they like in recruits. Yall can hate Raymond all you like, but he has a specific type of athlete he looks for in corners. Long, lean, and has ball skills. You can't tell me the guy that put together the 2016 LSU secondary, before Ed O meddled in the defenses ever year when he was the HC, doesn't know what he's doing. That secondary alone produced 2 first rounders and a 2nd rounder. The backup corners were the #5 CB in his class, and a top 10 player #2 CB in his class. The very next year 2 more guys, who were freshman, would later both be 2nd round picks.

Unlike many others, i am very high on the secondary going forward. By midseason this year i will bet you that this secondary that people are shite talking, will be way better than expected. Why? Because Raymond knows what he is doing, and he doesn't have to get into headbutting competitions with his DC and/or head coach over their incompetence.

I know last year word was they was depositing monthly payments for recruits to keep them on top of list.
A guy i follow is in the group talks of some of these recruits (he's under 25), and he said this last year that FSU is sending these kids checks. Some of these kids are also getting paid to attend these visits and camps.

It could just be that you're a moron that doesn't understand how current recruiting works.

I think that's more likely to be what's going on here.

I think once kids commit to LSU, Kelly wants them to help and be part of the recruiting effort. Whereas a lot of these kids still wanna be arse kissed to the maximum degree throughout the entire recruiting process. It’s why I like the Dabo model of committing.

I just don't get this mentality. You play the ultimate team sport and still cant get your head around the big picture.

JFC how these coaches put up with kissing and stroking the egos of 16-17 yr old kids off is beyond me

It’s what is going to drive real coaches out of the game and to the nfl. If it doesn’t calm down, in a few years you’ll have way more coach primes and 7on7 agents than actual coaches.

Why would you do that? Recruiting trips are nice and all but they are also exhausting and time consuming. And the more you play the game, the more you burn bridges in the end, which is unwise.

I don't think the schools look at burning bridges. As long as the recruit doesn't say something crazy about the school or staff. How the portal can be used limitless now it probably isn't a bad thing coming in 2nd place and have a good relationship with the player.
