Jaray could very well end up at Miss State.

Im sure in reality the process of parting with a kid who you no longer think is a good take is more complicated and there are several steps in it. Calling less, not arranging a visit, subtle early hints to their HS coach, their parent or the people they are listening to, etc.
As long as the kids are not bound until they sign, I don't have a oroblem with the universities also not being bound.

I don't see Curry being one at all.
Curry is a 19 year old senior so he is obviously better than the 18 year olds in the class of 2018.

pulling an offer (without discipline issues) will leave a bad taste in the kids and their coaches mouth.
The offer won't be pulled, but the future possibilities of playing time will be honestly discussed. The recruits will ultimately make the final decision.

now all the posters who have spent months defending the recruitment of so many 3 stars are now going to shite all over these kids in order to justify taking higher-ranked recruits. again, this is months after people have been saying to ignore stars and trust the staff's evaluations, including their "film" analysis talking about how talented the kids really are
There have always been a few kids that most on the RB have been "not so excited about". They have been mentioned in this thread. Some players are potential qualification concerns that have nothing to do with ability. There are also diamond in the rough players that have been mentioned. Just because the polished diamond becomes more likely and the choices become limited does not mean the guys that don't make the cut are suddenly garbage.

Rosenthal will be on the OL for LSU, with certainty. I know there is a faction on this board that doesn't care for Jimmy Deets, but the guy is a stellar talent evaluator and he has Rosenthal rated much higher on offense than defense. And he's not alone. Alabama wants him badly on their offensive line as well.
247 dropped Rosenthal like a rock when evaluating him as a DT vs OT. Whoever he signs with will eventually talk some sense into him.
Kid could easily become a 1st rounder at LT.

surely someone in LSU AD posts here.they should set clarify the 25 rule, and if backcounting is allowed.

We are going to make room for some of the recruits we want. It's expected.

how can he have grade issues. He's a JUCO now

quote:No way, but I could see someone like the Tae Provens kid. He's a 3 star talent that sits in between Auburn and Tenn, and they both have interest in him. Plus, he's an all purpose back in the mold of Justin Watkins and Pooka Williams, and I don't think he is as good as either one of those kids.

That’s been said about him since high school. He looked like an nfl athlete in the 11th grade and he’s gotten bigger

Nerd talk from people who have never played the game

LMFAO!!!! Have you actually seen Curry play, or are you simply making an assessment based on his star rating? Dude was invited to the UA All-American game and you think LSU should send him elsewhere? Nah, if LSU is going to pull offers, it won't be Curry's, that would be stupid. Though I could list a few names here of players I don't see being legit prospects for LSU, it is a short list, but there are a few. And a couple of them are 4 stars, believe it or not.

Thats why i dont understand them offering these under the radar guys so early. At least wait to see if they prove they are scholarship worthy after their senior year. Now it looks bad if they have to pull their offers or encourage them to look elsewhere. Especially if they are local kids. Doing great in a camp is one thing but doing it game in and game out for a season is something else.
This is simply the business of major college football. These lower ranked prospects fill out spots early and are often told that it's totally possible that come signing day that the offer will not be honored. And it's almost always because a top tier prospect at whatever position needs to take the slot. Grayshirt possibilities and preferred walk on opportunity is usually offered in consolation for this outcome. The point is that these kids that are not nationally ranked players know that they might get pushed out, but commit anyway in the hopes that they can either raise their level of play and make themselves a prospect that earbs the spot outright and isn't in danger of this happening or that the spot they have is actually never filled by a bigger name. They know that in the reality that they lose the scholarship offer that they can commit to one of the lower tier programs that would be happy to take them and actually end up pushing out say an unranked prospect for them the 3 star guy who now is a featured player in the class for say La tech or some program that's comparable. The 3 star prospect that would be the last or lowest ranked guy in LSUs class is literally one of the highest ranked guys in a class of many to most group of five all the way down to FCS programs. In many cases these prospects would rather cling to the chance of going to LSU to get to be in major games and play with NFL caliber players, get coached by the best people who could get them to the next level possibly, along with the benefits afforded to LSU players compared to lets say Southeastern players...the swag, the prestige, the presents, the trips for games being like mini vacations... The party favors and swag bags they get for these games. Being even a backup on a major program like LSU who never gets to see the field is in many cases a better overall time and experience in total than being a star player for a FCS team that will never have what LSU has to offer outside of the field itself. A lot of lower ranked players also realize that they will not play in the NFL and that college is as good as it will ever get and a place like LSU even as a preferred walk on is better than they will ever get to be apart of ever again. So they say forget the consequences of maybe having the offer pulled, they'll commit so they can just maybe get there.
The fact that the very lowest ranked players are told they will have the offer possibly revoked is a well known thing here....that's the whole point. These kids know what is going on and so do the coaches at their high schools. Also this thought that somehow coached from major programs are somehow boycotted from certain schools and said yo be locked out of some programs is a farce. These high school coaches would not deprive the student athletes opportunities like going to a major college program because of some beef between the coaches or something. Fact is that the kids getting scouted and how they are approached has almost nothing to do with the high school coach. As if the parents of the players wouldn't get contacted personally outside of school and make the best decision for their children regardless of some coach and his relationship with LSU. I've heard of some coaches trying to and being successful in steering certain kids towards certain programs or away from certain programs but the fact is that this could really backfire on the high school coach. The backlash that a coach could endure because he had his boss recieve a call from say a nick saban type guy who told them that the high school coach was preventing them from evaluating a certain prospect or something like this....coaches have been and will continue to be fired for these types of things.
