The only thing I know about Tate is that he is a proponent of Critical Race Theory, which is by default an inherently racist dogma, whether by naivity or not. That said, I'd be willing and open to view his contributions differently if he is some instrumental cog in the football turn around at LSU.

Staying out of the way which he's mostly doing is the best thing he's done and he's actually a big proponent of athletics unlike F-King

He also met with recruits and their parents last year and by all accounts was impressive

He's been on the job a year and hasn't done one thing regarding CRT. He actually fired the crazy diversity officer who was here
All the libs in the state like Robert Mann are mad at him because he might crack down on their tenure

What’s bs? LSU fans were shitting on players who went somewhere like A&M saying all they cared about was money,

show me someone who was saying they don't want a recruit because he wanted more money? I think most adults understand that people generally go where the pay is the best and that doesn't necessarily reflect badly on that person. What most people hate is how money focused Nil has made recruiting.

Are you blind?

Oh, sorry.

LSU baws seem to be taking this too personally and not looking at the big picture. Think about going into the home of a Louisiana 4-5 star recruit. Now you're talking up the university to the parents and point to the president, Dr. Tate. Now you mention that Tate is on board with CRT, and understands the problems black Utes face today. You think a blue-chip's parents think CRT is a bunch of BS? I don't.

Ok, so I have to jump in here. Without taking up the merits of CRT, it is quite the stretch to think Tate's academic philosophies or views are in any way related to LSU's ability to recruit in football. That's the most 4d chess theory ever. A blue-chip parent's first priority is developing their kids for the NFL and other future opportunities.

Thank you for the well thought out response. If that is all true, it is indeed good news and a welcome change. I didn't want to derail the thread, just wanted info, and was open to what was told to me. Cheers

I love Lsu football. It's a passion, and a hobby. I am also an alumnus, so I support my Alma mater. That said, I don't get a flying shite whether CRT gets us in the door. My values aren't for sales, neither are my principals. You're quite blind if you think CRT would be a deal breaker for recruits or their parents, and frankly if it comes down to it, give me the recruits with parents who see through that bs, and reject the comfort of the new victim plantation that only perpetuates an enslaved mind. Now, back to topic

Maybe, but when a parent looks all the way up the line at LSU, I think they may feel a bit at ease by allowing their son to attend.

Perhaps I'm stretching it, but I don't see it as a negative for recruiting, perhaps a net of zero. I'm not African American, so I can't say for sure. But it seems possible.

Same.

Personally, any lawful thing that helps us get the positive attention of targeted recruits' parents, I'm for it. I couldn't give a shite what CRT does or doesn't do for the university otherwise.

Okay, now you lost me. I said nothing of the sort.

Having the university PRESIDENT be visible is undoubtedly a plus in recruiting

Not saying he is actively involved or should be because that would be crazy, but if he stops in and says hello during a camp or big visit weekend, that’s huge in showcasing #thealignment at LSU and of course he can speak to academics to parents if it comes up.

All that said, he’s too busy to be an active recruiter for LSU football

Indeed. But any coach can go into a family's home and point up and down to LSU and say that the university is working in the interest of their son - on the academic/social side, and the NFL/$$$ side.

But again, I'm not the parent of a recruit, so I don't know what they're looking for. I'm just speculating at this point. But I do remember that was the first thing I thought of when I heard about the new LSU president's background, "Well, that cold help recruiting."
