Since when were analysts allowed to recruit? Analysts are coaches that assist the regular FT coaches but they don't have direct contact with players (they're not allowed at least) and especially not recruits.

I didn't see that. This would be unfortunate because I thought Polian would evaluate talent well and being a dick isn't terrible unless it effects the other major recruiters on staff. If the stuff about telling Louisiana recruits you shouldn't have to recruit them is true then that's sad. I'm not sure how Woodward doesn't step in on something like that and have a word with Kelly.


I got the sense that Woodward and BK had discussions in his hiring about re-fencing Louisiana to favor LSU again (like stopping Alabama from pulling top talent) and find it surprising Polian would say such things given establishing relationships with HS coaches in-state is paramount to the new Kelly tenure.

He is the worst type of coach. I bet he feels entitled from being with kelly for so long.

With him having the recruiting coordinator tag that probably makes it even worse.

Unfortunately i doubt kelly gets rid of him. He sucks up to kelly.

From what I recall, he said that lsu fans had been spoiled by York’s ability to be mostly automatic from 45+ yards. Essentially he was saying that our field goal kicking wasn’t going to be as strong as it has been lately.

I didn’t take the comment negatively; it seemed spot on. Of course, this doesn’t excuse other things that have happened. I’d like to think that some of them aren’t true, but we have at least seen the special teams failures, so his on-the-field coaching to say the least hasn’t been stellar.

I had hoped everything else he would do would make up for that…
