The kid hasn't even committed anywhere yet and this place is in full on melt mode... can't wait to see how well things go post-announcement tomorrow.

Yes he has it’s just not public. When Shea says “when it gets to this point and their source hasn’t been told it’s done then it usually not them”. He is going to Texas. As everyone should have known that all along because BK can’t close on elite players.

Has he publicly committed? No? Ok then... until that point it's just speculation. So just chill for another 24 hours.
People need to stop with this "can't close on elite recruits" crap too...
2023: Zalance Heard + Dashawn Womack
2022: Harold Perkins + Will Campbell + Walker Howard
2021 (at ND): Blake Fisher
2020 (at ND): Michael Mayer + Jordan Johnson
If you're expecting to land 5+ 5 stars or whatever every year, you need to check your expectations. Those types are all guys that every school wants and when there's 15-20 schools vying for the top 50 guys, guess what - you're not going to land all of them (just a little math for you here... that's 2.5 top 50 guys per school @ 20 schools...).
So reset your expectations, understand and appreciate how difficult recruiting is and recognize that we're pulling in tons of high-end talent that fits our culture, whether you choose to believe it or not.

You cannot be this dumb. This was about money. Nothing more, nothing less. No amount of persuasion was going to overcome the fact that Texas went all in on Simmons (and probably overpaid by several multiples). If anything, we made them pay more by being persuasive.
If you want to find fault, it's the LSU boosters who aren't willing to pay more.

You’re 100% right that this has become the defense for almost every fanbase who loses out on a recruit.
But in this instance it is actually the truth.
Even Texas insiders have admitted that Simmons heart wants LSU. Both sides have been clear that this is now coming down to a money thing and Texas is willing to pay whatever.

I really don't recall a lot of drama or "circus" sturr with Simmons. He never really said a lot or did anything but take his visits and post some photos wearing the different uniforms, like all these kids do.
It's the so-called recruiting insiders, the adults, who were bouncing all over the place and stirring up the drama.
