I do not see how a player of his caliber would want to spend three years at the dumpster fire that is USCe.

Think about all the players who signed with the dumpster fire that was LSU as we lost 8 straight to Bama. Some of them led us to victory this year.

Think about Kevin Faulk signing with the dumpster fire that was LSU then. If you weren’t puzzled by those, why would you be puzzled now?

Lsu was never on south carolina’s level that entire run against Saban. Yes, getting Faulk was probably the single biggest recruit in the history of the program considering where we were when we got him.

Meh, not same situation. LSU doesn't have any actual in-state recruiting rivals so all it took was keeping kids home to be decent. SCar doesn't have that, on top of not producing as much top tier talent.

The whole greyshirt thing isn't something that needs to be going public right now though IMO
I agree. Just in general though, if a commit is greyshirted, that means we are signing over 25 yes?

Grayshirts don’t sign. They enroll on their own dime and cannot participate in team activity. They get a scholarship in the next signing cycle and count against that year’s 25.

Not quite as good as I once was, but not ready to say we aren't getting him. Will know more after our in-home visit with him.

Hmmm

Hopefully we get him but I’m going with a no from what I know.

Ok thanks, about what I thought. I did think though that coming in as a walk-on, they would count against the 85 but not a current or future 25.

To be a grayshirt, you can't be enrolled full time. The advantage of a grayshirt is that your eligibility clock won't start until the following year. Most don't enroll at all, and if they do, it's just part time. If he enrolls full time, he may as well just be a preferred walkon. While a PWO is a roster player and if he is paying his own way, he doesn't count against the 85 or the 25. If he pays his own way for a full year and then gets a scholarship, he would only count against the 85. If he gets academic scholarship help to pay his year and he is an old school redshirt (0 playing time), then he doesn't count either.

At least vol doesn't just copy and paste anymore like Denver does. Can always predict when vol or Denver will post something from their "Source." The desperation on this board is astounding. Wonder why vol is changing his stance on Burch...

Yet I've disagreed with part or all of everything the guy has posted, but sure... I just copy and paste all his stuff and base everything off him? Seriously it's gotten old man.

You realize recruiting is centered around 17 year old kids, right? A month feels like a year when you're 16-18. Kids change their minds.

Thanks that is helpful. So PWO guys are the only real way to combat the transfers out. Finding project guys that after a couple years of development could actually play and also would be willing to pay their own way for a year is hard though.

Because Burch is changing?

Recruiting is fluid. One second your favorite recruit is in, the next he's out and all iterations in between. Surprised you didn't know that.
