Kiffin is a necessary evil. In due time, the rest of college football will realize him exploiting the loopholes in the current rules ended up being good the sport in the long run and forced much needed change.

There's a lot of pearl clutching as if Lane were something different. I am withholding judgement on Lane's ability to win the conference or a national championship.
But I don't see where any of the things he's doing are fundamentally different from what's been going on for more than 40 years in college football.
Could Lane get popped for something off the field involving alcohol or coeds? Sure. He hasn't shown long term stability and the ability to avoid stupid decisions. He's vulnerable to an unfair news cycle because he hasn't demonstrated the stability and success yet.
But he didn't invent NIL. He didn't invent processing players. He just doesn't seem different from what the rest of college football is doing.
