I meant the DL class sucks. I'm charging O with bringing in the DL recruits.

I think the class outside of DL is really good.

I think you are grading on recruits brought in instead of talent evaluation. Kinda cherry picking a position in a single year as well.

Last year's efficiency and competency = 7.2 out of 10. This year's rating would be 8.9 out of 10. Disclaimer 10 out of 10 translates into Alabama on its best day with 10 straight number one recruiting classes and hitting on 7+ five stars across the board in each of those classes. So a perfect 10 is virtually impossible to keep the standards high and the rest is subjective.

While I am in no way an expert, I had to look Sheffer up to even remember who he was.

I haven't seen any misses on talent evaluation from this staff. They seem to make an effort on talent when they see it even against long odds.

I generally trust the staff, but as far as misses go, Travis Etienne says hello.

Are we really giving up on Sheffer because he didn't play as a true freshman?

Yea, what is the deal with this?

Why are we writing off players as busts after their true freshman year?

Etienne is at least 75 percent on Miles. When O took over as interim they put recruiting on hold until a permanent coach was named.

I know one thing. We miss on the DL much more and I’ll have deeper doubts about Ed’s coaching.

Immaculate timing for this news to come out.

Made me think of the movie "The Fugitive" and what Tommy Lee Jones said to the prison guard after the bus wreck when they found empty and unlocked leg irons.

Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard: Do you want to change you bullshite story, sir?

[Poole shows the Guard a picture of Kimble]

Old Guard: ...He might have got out.

Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard: "He might have got out."

Sheriff Rawlins: What the hell is this? A minute ago you're telling me he was part of the wreckage! Now he might have gotten out?

Defense? Sure

Offense? Our evals have been hit or miss if not poor (QB,OL) for years. Not to mention our on field product doesn’t exactly usher in confidence.

Nope, just wondering if the poster understands the question being asked in the OP - key words being "this staff". I guess you missed that also.

No one fears this offensive staff, Ree. Their recruiting is tbd at best. As usual it’s the other side of the ball holding everything together.

Same thing happened with the gadget player everyone talked up (including me, admittedly) before Pooka: Kavontae Turpin at TCU.

I totally trust them! Every school misses out on players, even Alabama. I can't tell you how many 5-star qbs that were busts for them. The reality is recruiting is important to a certain point, but it's also a crap shoot also. If 50 percent of your recruiting class contributes in any way, you've hit the lottery. You would be surprised how many guys simply don't pan out for whatever reason. It's the recruiting game and you have to hope you hit more than you miss! Just the facts!

Considering Pooka just got suspended from Kansas for domestic violence, I don’t see him as some huge miss
