If they're not LSU, all the teams are enemies. Alabama is not the only team La boys decided to go play for. I agree. We don't need them to come running once coach Brian Kelly gets the ship rolling.

Rich Eisen gave CBK an opportunity earlier on his show to rub salt in Danny Lewis' wound and he took the high road. He blamed his dancing for the reason Lewis went to Bama.

Dumb. No program uses any of its valuable scholarship so that a player does not sign with another team.

Back in the old days, Bear Bryant used to do that quite often.

Bama whiffed on some of their other TE targets last year. Once Lewis’ name started becoming popular last December around Louisiana, Saban was going to do whatever he could to keep him out of BR. He was definitely a need but Saban knew who he was affecting by signing him.

Not sure it matters. We have a quality tight end.

There were less restrictive scholarship limitations then. They could also give scholarships to football players and designate them in other sports like tennis, golf etc. Now if a football player is a multi sport athlete he counts against the football limits.

You are correct. No way Saban would consider how badly we needed TEs when offering Lewis. Nick loves project TEs that need two years of seasoning.

So did we need a TE immediately or did Lewis need two years to be ready to play? It can't be both. We also already had Mason Taylor on board but Saban couldn't see how good he was going to be, thus lowering our need at TE?

Saban doesn't give a frick about signing someone to spite LSU, Lewis is at Bama because they missed on targets.

Trading brief personal gain for something that will last a lifetime.

You’re delusional. Playing for Bama lasts just as long as playing for LSU. It’s almost the exact same thing.
