DL Coach: Bring back Carter
Posted by Lsu4lifer

What’s Andre Carter doing now of days? I was hoping he would have gotten retained because he made steady progress throughout the year.

Andre is a solid coach, but we need a recruiting monster at DL coach.

I'm not saying he would be my top choice, but he's a very fiery personality with a long NFL career. Seems like a guy that would attract top recruits.
All things considered the 2021 D improved quite a bit towards the end of the season. They held Bryce Young and #2 Bama's offense in check and held KJ Jefferson and Arkansas to 13 points in regulation. All that with a Daronte Jones who had never been a DC before.

Daronte Jones HAS been a DC before. He was DC at Bowie State from 05-09

We did and he chose to stay at Texas. He’s paid very well and there are better tax incentives in working Texas.
LSU can’t pay a DL coach to beat what he makes over there. We tried

This. No more unproven recruiters on the DL.

When O gave up on supervising Daronte Jones, Daronte turned up the heat big time by attacking offenses and we improved. LSU has historically been man to man and attack. That's it. That's LSU. But it isn't any more. Soft.

If Missour holds this LSU offense in check and our D continues to struggle. Baker will be ur next DC

He did a good job with our LBs when he was here, and he has a rep as a good recruiter. I wouldn’t hate it. There may be guys I would want more, but he’s a good coach.
