Cant say I know anything more about DJ other than what I've read about him, and the video footage I've seen.

The kid is apparently uber talented and there is some fairly poor footage of him throwing the ball 85 yds in the air supposedly.

LINK

Does anyone know if his situation is going to be similar to Maurice Hampton as far as making a decision between entering the MLB draft or playing college ball?

I've no idea how much he is considering playing with LSU, but it would be excellent news if he is seriously interested. Lets just hope he decides to stick with football, and decides to bring his skills to LSU. All the people that write about him say he is a generational talent.

Right now he is rated the top qb coming out of high school. In all honesty maybe taking the baseball money isnt the play here regardless.

He hasn't done much on the baseball showcase circuit in about 3 years, but he's still rated around #300 in his class. The most recent radar on him was from when he was 14. One high school season in southern california can put him firmly on the draft radar though.

I posted about him last year and his intentions of going to see LSU at some point, but anyway I follow his game highlights from UTR on YouTube, and man this kid is what you draw up at QB. He's physically ready day one, and with the coaching he gets at St John Bosco, he could probably start year one in a spread system.

Honestly I think he goes to Oregon, but IDK.

Early leaders appear to be Clemson and USC. Clemson's depth may be a concern and USC has to splash with Kingsbury. Interesting note, Bama passed on offering him last summer. They chose commit Carson Beck over him. Doesn't mean much but it's interesting that after watching both throw in camp they chose the Beck kid.

He plans to. We've also offered his family the same deal that Tua and Taulia got from Bama. His brother is in 8th grade and plays DE at 6'3 220 already.
