Soooo then why go to Michigan? If they didn’t “decline” from last year, I don’t know who did.

Also, LSU is far from “declining”.

If you were engaged to someone for a year and someone with ridiculous money came and she left you for them would you consider yourself played?

You're a rich man engaged to a woman from out of town for a year. All along you know your fiance has another suitor from her hometown who is also rich. In that year you've planned a wedding, set a date and made plans for her to relocate into your hometown. 2 weeks before the wedding , the rich suitor from her hometown makes his last ditch offer to win her over. She comes to you, tells you about his efforts and needs to hear that you're all in on going through with the wedding. You confess you're having second thoughts. She chooses to stay home with the other suitor who's willing to prove his commitment. Is that you being played or refusing to commit?

That's what happened. We refused to match the money after being given every opportunity to. Based on the numbers reported, along with the reports in the weeks prior of Michigan pushing, if you actually believe LSU didn't know they were being outbid you're lying to yourself. Doesn't matter if that last day he didn't call to tell us. We knew the amount we were up against and refused to back off our number. The reporting included details that after meeting with Michigan last Sunday, his folks went to LSU for them to make their final offer. Logic says they made us aware that Michigan was offering more. That's not played. That's a conscious decision not to match the offer.

If the staff wasn't, by some miracle, aware they were going to have to raise their offer then that's just sad and shows how unaware they are of what's going on around them. And its not forgiveable.

That's your opinion that you have no tangible facts to back up. They call it sour grapes and creating a narrative to make yourself feel better. The young kids call it copium

If he wanted to drive the price up for Michigan, he would have committed to Ohio State. Then he’d be looking at $20mm after Ohio State blasts Michigan next week.

He wanted to come to LSU but then decided to take the money instead. Him and his camp acted like snakes about it towards the end, but it’s as simple as the money.

Yeah…. That’s what it is. I swear you people are so damn delusional. You can’t fathom that every kid in America doesn’t want to come to LSU. And you have the audacity to claim I’M COPING? Lololololololololololololololol

If you were honest with yourself you’d see that my case is far more plausible than any other.

It’s very possible Underwood could transfer to LSU after his freshman season. Depends if he plays a lot his first year or not

I thought one of his requirements on going to Michigan was he was going to be the starter Day 1.

The scary point about this NIL situation is it's just in its infant stages and the players are in total control. If 10-12M is the bar now, what is next year's top player going to want? I never thought I would live to see players get paid, but as out of control as this situation has become, I wouldn't be surprised if a luxury suite isn't part of an NIL deal in very near future.

And sadly, more and more schools will be used as pawns to help players get even more money!

LSU had 2 back to back Heisman winners. We were “considered” THE program to be at for QBs.

I’m not saying he had ZERO interest in LSU. Like I said, if Michigan had told him to kick rocks and offered him nothing, he probably would have signed with LSU. I’m just saying that we were technically always his plan B. There isn’t anything wrong with that. He’s a Michigan kid. Of course he’d rather go to Michigan. Just like most Louisiana kids would RATHER go to LSU. (Remember Leonard Fournette’s recruitment?)

Michigan just had to get in the ballpark of what we offered him.

How is that sad? That’s capitalism. You telling me you’ve never used one job to get more money out of another?

Shitty grifting kid from a shitty grifting family. The only real person who got played here were LSU fans that were denying the smoke. Kid was always gonna take the money.

Well here’s the thing about liars. You usually don’t know they’re lying to you until it’s too late. LSU had no reason to think Underwood wasn’t solid in his commitment and intended on coming to LSU. Turns out, he was lying to them.

and lsu started falling apart on offense.

This is one part I don’t think influenced his decision based on the two teams he was choosing between.

Nuss is in the top 10 in passing yards and top 15 in passing TDs compared to Michigan that’s sitting at 6-5 with a qb that finally broke 1,000 yards this weekend and has passed for less than 200 yards in every game but one. This 100% came down to money.

Well he did supposedly turn down the 10 million dollar offer. It wasn’t until Michigan upped the offer to 12 million and that’s when Underwood couldn’t say no. So yes there’s a possibility that Underwood actually did want to be at LSU.

Plausible or not, it's your opinion and you're reporting it as if it's a fact. You have no clue what factually happened.

Have you seen Michigan's fall from grace this year?

So explain why he chose Michigan?

Yes he that Detroit area family were never coming to LSU. They just used LSU to get every penny they could from Michigan.

No. Underwood wanted to come here. Once Michigan got desperate and offered ridiculous money that couldn’t be turned down he flipped.

It wasn’t about money until the money became too hard to pass up.

Ever since Bryce Underwood committed to LSU in January, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect for the 2025 class has been adamant about Baton Rouge being home. That time is quickly approaching to make it official once his playing days at Belleville, Michigan are done.

Underwood and his father, Jacquan, made another trip down to the place they both will call home a little over a week ago. It reinforced what they already knew after the numerous other visits within the past year – March, June and October.

"We had an opportunity to watch practice and to see the team get after it," Jacquan told Geaux247. "Bryce was so excited knowing this is home now. He was ready to get out on the field and get to work.
