They felt good about Williams Nwaneri too until the few days before his commitment. So I'm taking that with a grain of salt.

all signs say OU and they just got the 10th overall player in 5-star DL Stone from Florida last week.
Venables is recruiting on another level for a 6-7 coach.
Also, the mom said it's about academics and closeness, but they are a distant 3rd in both to UT and A&M, and even way behind in money. Not sure why they shot up.

Dom was quoted as saying he had a decision a few weeks ago, but sounds like he's telling different staffs different things. LSU the only school with not much confidence.

The top 2 players in Georgia aren't going to Georgia. Same applies to Bama, Clemson in South Carolina, Texas or A&M, Tennessee, UF/Miami/FSU in Florida... kids leave their home state. That's just how it is.

That's a totally fair point. Hitting the portal is fine as a supplement, but we could definitely do better in HS DL recruiting.
The Jimmy Lindsey situation definitely doesn't help (and beyond that, hope he recovers quickly) but really not sure how to improve recruiting that position.
I trust BK and staff to figure it out, but until they do and meet people's standards, this place is going to be unbearable whenever we "miss" on a DL target.
