Considering this is a clueless immature college geek website, good luck on that one.

Dexter Blackmon is a very raw payer. With tremendous upside, Blackmon has the frame to bulk up and play on the inside in college.

Blackmon has a very quick burst, and even though he is far from a finished project he is a very good football player.

Why do you always use this term:

Seriously?
I am curious, any time someone doesn't agree with you I have seen that come back on Tiger Rant at least.

Found this response from a respected poster on another site ...sorry if germans. Sounds like a potential diamond in the rough...time will tell and to the coach below I trust

"Though lacking in notoriety, LSU is getting a multi-talented and athletically-gifted player, according to his coach, one capable of recording a bench press of 315 pounds, squatted 500 pounds and posted a vertical jump of 29 inches. Blackmon also plans to major in forensic science and LSU’s respected forensics department proved to be another plus for the Tigers."

“First of all, Dexter is a fine young man, he has great character,’’ Davis said. “He works extremely hard. He’s a very, very good athlete. He’s definitely going to be an asset to the LSU program. Coaches always are looking for good players who are good people and he definitely is going to bring that to the table.’’

So much for the oddness of this recruitment. Makes perfect sense to me now.

Awesome. You named 10 guys out of over 100. No other coach in the history of college football has ever had a recruit no work out.

ETA: This board used to be immune from stupid shite like this.

All I did was refute the argument that Les has never been wrong on a recruit. Tell me me where I was wrong on that and I will recant.

1) You ETA'd but didn't actually edit.
2) "immune for" doesn't make sense. You should have said "immune to."

Thanks for the admonishment, I'll make note of it.

I figured there would be several people who would cry blasphemy to anyone that would have the audacity to question this move.

We don't drink kool-aid around here. You must have us confused with another fan base.

Recruiting sites don't get it right on many players. You read the story where Miami was recruiting just from the sites and not evaluating the film on each of them right?

If you have an established coach make an offer to a kid why question it? That coach has far more knowledge than any recruiting board likely ever will, not including the information the coach has about the needs of his program and that player's ability to fill that need.

Looks like a solid recruit who has a solid upside as well.

What was "wrong" about these guys?

I'm not seeing how Blackmon compares when not much is known of him on the message board. Unless you know something because the articles seem to promote good character, athleticism, academic interest (forensic science - not general studies or kinesiology).

What was "wrong" about Dixon, Phelon, or McCoy? Aren't they D-1 talent that happened to be on a program with alot of D-1 talent?

The best available (and interested) are brought in to compete. Not be handed a position. Some players with limited college pt still make it to the NFL and do well. If this is the definition of "wrong" or a "miss", I think Pete Carroll misses a whole lot more than Leslie.

I think out of those you can only really say he was wrong about Dixon and Lott, when it comes to talent. And i think it was somewhat accepted Dixon got an offer because of RP.

You might want to take a look at most schools in the nation. This is a normal amount of attrition. Sad but true.

Don't think anyone can slam this commitment, because we know so little about it. A bit confusing? Yep. But at roughly 240 lbs this kid has the potential to go from a one star recruit to a solid contributor if he buys into the S&C program. That is if he has the skills, and i assume he does, just undersized at the present time for a tackle.

Dixon was a 4* (#23) WR according to rivals. If that is "wrong", then Les, Rivals, Scout and others that offered missed this one as well. We just got better talent or some that better fit what Crowton wanted to do.

I'm surprised that Toliver or Benton didn't make the list as well. There's still time, though.

Anyway, here's a limited shot of the new commit (per rivals)...

I'll never forget a former LSU coach talking before the season. They were talk about all the returning DL. But this coach was talking about a little problem he had. A reporter asks, what problem? He said that right now I have a player that no one on the OL can block. Hes gonna play somewhere. An play this guy did. His nickname was Hardware Hank. Anyone know this guy?
