Just like all the top texas a&m players.

When will y'all learn that they are writing these contracts for at least 2 years

The ones that need to show out for the NFL will leave after their sophomore year. Like Dominic Lovett did at Mizzou.

Yeah and a 100 million dollar contract played absolutely no factor in Kelly leaving ND for LSU. You see how dumb that sounds?

You guys have no clue what type of financial situation some of these kids families are dealing with at the moment.

Some of yall are so blinded by fandom.

No one is saying that they shouldn't pursue NIL. But NIL is nothing compared to NFL money and chasing the biggest offer rarely works out. Any player should go to the place that can develop them the best for the next level.

That place may not be LSU. It may not be Texas. But it's rarely the place that offers the most money.

Miami has the appearance of a complete shite-show that will be off the rails soon.

A wasted year of development is not worth a bump in NIL money.

Kelly has done his due diligence & proved himself at this level.

Little different scenario, don't ya think?

You’d be shocked to know we got several this class because we had the biggest bag. When they choose LSU it’s not chasing money, right?

Give it a year he might be like Aaron Anderson

This!

I don't like it but I believe that's becoming the norm for undecided in-state guys that want to try their hands somewhere else.

That's the wrong question... "if his main focus is chasing money".

They are all, at least the one's we heavily recruit, chasing money. Hell, we are all chasing money.

The real question to be asked is once they get to their school will they do the things to earn that money AND do the things to put themselves in a position to make even more later.

OR

Will they think that a 5* rating as a high schooler will pay them now and forever.

If it's the first one then that's exactly what we're looking for.

And by the way, it isn't anything new. It is just more open and has taken a slightly different form that has resulted it being more obvious when they aren't willing to earn it.

And some people are blinded by stupidity. When you interview for a job, do you walk in asking about the salary? If so, you’re probably not getting that job because you’re sending a very clear message that salary/income is all you really care about. The person interviewing you cares about how productive you will be as an employee and how you will fit on their team. I’d rather hear someone SELL me on the value they bring rather than what they expect to get.

I suspect that the type of kids that are solely focused on $$$ are the same kids that will have multiple stops along their college journey.

may be in the minority but I really don’t believe that these types of kids will live up to their potential nor do I think teams that recruit that type of player will be a serious threat. It’s just such an unhealthy dynamic individually and from a team perspective

You saw the cautionary tale this year at 5T7. I think Christobal is probably a little but better of a coach, and I hope more of a disciplinarian, but filling out your team with bag chasers is definitely not the impact you're gonna want.

Miami lol let him go. He's never really considered LSU regardless of money. Not going to happen for LSU and it's a good thing him going to Miami. Make his money and lose.

I’m not going to hate on the kid. I can think of worse situations than being a young adult with a good bit of money in Miami lol.

Kinda reminds me of a Hootie Jones year. Hootie rolls with the tide, we get Jamal Adams.

Williams spurns for out of state. LSU gets Toviano.

Winning.

Seems odd to me that everyone really wanted him at LSU, but now that he is possibly torn between Texas and Miami, it's presumed that he's a kid just chasing a bag of money.

While it's certainly possible that it's true, it seem like a lot of speculation, rather than actual knowledge. Again, maybe the bag thing is real with him, but it doesn't appear that anyone actually Knows.

He's never been into LSU. Miami and UT may have offered more but doubt it's much more. LSU has the money to get kids that really want to come. Do we want kids who really don't like LSU and are coming for NIL only to leave after one year? Yea Perkins came partly for the money but but he loved LSU to begin with. So did Campbell, Walker, Jones etc

what is wrong with getting the biggest bag? football is a physical game and there's no guarantee that he will get to the NFL....people really need a reality check.

also wishful thinking that miami will continue to stink. with the way they are recruiting ($$$) its just a matter of time.

You've never been in these players' shoes. That's life-altering money to a lot of them.

And exactly what about Jimbo Fisher or A&M's football history makes you believe they will be better than average next year?
