Did he? No NIL laws were in place prior to July 2021 and nor was the new NCAA policy on NIL. So anything like that would have meant Young and Alabama would have been in violation of NCAA rules when Young enrolled in January 2020. Also still illegal when Young took his first snap vs Missouri in September 2020.

My guess is you're just repeat shite someone said with 0 real information or proof.

TLDR:
Sports Illustrated
quote:

Sophomore quarterback Bryce Young, Alabama's presumptive starter in 2021, is yet to start a game of college football. But he's already earned close to $1 million in off-field endorsement deals.
Via NIL legislation, Young has approached seven figures before taking an official snap as the Crimson Tide's starting signal caller.
"Our quarterback has approached ungodly numbers, and he hasn't even played yet," Saban said at the Texas High School Coaches Association convention, according to 247Sports. "If I told you what it is ... it's almost seven figures."
Young signed with CAA following the passing of NIL legislation, and being that it's one of the top agencies in the country, he's been assisted in efforts to capitalize on the recently-granted opportunity given to NCAA student-athletes.

if you're talking about my use of "taking a snap", what he did in 2020 wasn't even worth mentioning. He got a million dollar deal based on being at Bama and what he did in high school.

Pretty sure you just described the OP and every single thread like this. No one knows anything, it’s all just rumor or fiction.

Nothing new here. Ags been trying to buy a title for decade. There's a reason why they had the nickname Trans A&M in the 80s

Complete insanity and nothing amateur about college sports any longer.

To be fair, college athletics have not been an amateur sport for a while now. My concern for these kids is, who’s handling their finances. I work in finance and I can easily see a lot of this kids getting slammed by the IRS for not paying taxes on their NIL deals. How many of us at 18 knew what we had to report for taxes? How many of these kids know the difference between a W2 and an 10-99 tax filing? Hate to say it, but this factor will end up hurting a lot of kids just seeing big dollar signs.

Deal with CashApp and others
quote:

Sources said that Young's deal with Cash App -- his only public endorsement to date -- is worth six figures. He has already completed production on a commercial for the company; it will also feature NFL quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Trey Lance.

The bulk of Young's other deals are in the memorabilia and trading card space, including Leaf, Wild Card and Onyx, sources said.

Young, who is represented by Creative Artist Agency, has yet to sign any local deals in Tuscaloosa.

He is expected to sign deals that would be mutually beneficial for teammates.

This was in October

Deal With Logan's Roadhouse

quote:

Logan’s Roadhouse announced the brand is partnering with University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young to use his name, image and likeness.

Through the sponsorship, the leader of the Crimson Tide’s offense will promote Logan’s on social media, as well as in on-air radio spots for local stations.
Young will also make frequent visits to Tuscaloosa’s Logan’s Roadhouse.

“We’re beyond excited to unite with such a talented and humble player like Bryce,” said SPB Hospitality President of Concepts Josh Kern. “He’s an incredible student athlete with fans across Alabama and the rest of the country. With Logan’s strong presence in Alabama, this partnership made perfect sense for us. We can’t wait to fuel Bryce with Logan’s mesquite wood-grilled steaks and plenty of signature made-from-scratch rolls. Roll Tide!”

Young plans to treat his o-line to dinners this season as a way to thank his teammates for consistently having his back on the field

Next time look for yourself ya lazy arse.

Players choosing schools based solely on NIL payments will be more likely to transfer. Other schools will just up the ante. A&M will have a bunch in the portal in the next couple of years.

Damn good chance because you know when these young guys don't start, get considerable playing time or get benched they will hold this money over the programs heads.

Right. That wasn't what the guy i responded to said and I inferred from the context he was insinuating that Young got that deal before he went to Bama. He was incorrect because Young appeared in 7 games and threw 22 passes with 9 rushing attempts listed (some are sacks, maybe all) in 2020.

400k doesn't sound unrealistic. That may be lowballing it. You figure all OL at Texas are getting a minimum of 200k for 4 years and those guys are gonna be further down the totem pole because of numbers/volatility at the positions.
The real question is when do these boosters start pulling their efforts due to lack of titles. Lots of schools boosters blowing lots of money for meaningless bowls. They are bound to get tired of it sooner than later. Particularly considering that as long as Saban is in Tuscaloosa Bama will still get what Bama wants. TAM has the public money out there but Bama folks are the archetype of the SEC motto "it just means more". Millions for a guaranteed 2nd in the division 90% of the time. Not gonna last. LSU may actually be ahead of the curve here though it doesn't seem so currently.

Look, you can pretend you don't understand. Play stupid all you want, I don't care, but him completing 13 passes as a freshman isn't the reason why he was signed to over 800k worth of NIL deals before he started a single game.
