Denbrock's and Brady's QBs

Does anyone think Denbrock's success depended on Daniels in a similar way to Brady succeeding as a result of Burrow?
I concede there are supporting cast members to consider, but I'm limiting this to QBs for now.

Bro… why do our fans always attempt to downgrade our coaches when things like this happens? Or attempt to do the same with our players when things change?
Of course their successes had everything to do with the QBs we had but the same goes for the QBs. Without the coaches they had, they likely don’t put up the numbers they did. Not only that but the WRs, RBs, OL and TEs. It’s the entire offense coming together with the perfect mix of coaching personnel and players surrounding them. Denbrock has been successful on many occasions with many different QBs, which tells me that he’s a damn good OC and knows which type of players works best in his offenses. All good coaches need great players to showcase their style and vise versa.

Both Daniels and Burrow drastically improved from their junior to senior years at LSU but somehow coaching had nothing to do with it.

Lots of downvotes but I agree with your post. I said back in 2019 that I thought Brady was given credit for the success of Joe Burrow, who ended up a Heisman winner of course. And last year I nicknamed the just ex-OC as Dumbrock. Look back at the 2022 Arkansas game that Perkins won almost singlehandedly. Arkansas blitzed or double blitzed the entire game and the OC did NOTHING to adjust to it.
This year LSU had the #1 offense in the nation but what else changed. Daniels increased hyperbolically under Sloan and Daniels incredible work ethic IMO the main reasons. I didn't see any great offensive innovations from 2022 to 2023. I saw a world class QB (just like in 2019), unbelievable receivers (just like in 2019), and unlike the defense, an offensive unit that avoided injuries almost completely (just like in 2019).
Bottom line: I don't consider Dembrock a bad OC but I'm not losing sleep over his departure...oh wait, if it ends up being Jimbo Fisher, I will lose a LOT of sleep!

What’s this have to do with recruiting?

Yea, we should make our OC’s play with shitty quarterbacks so we can tell if they are good.

You do know that Joe Brady is currently the OC of a resurgent Buffalo Bill offense right?

There is an easier way to prove an OC worth. When teams like Arkansas blitz or double blitz on every play in ther 2022 game, how about calling a screen, a quick flare pass, etc. Not remotely a great Ark defense since no one else scored less than 21...LSU only 13.

Daniels was sick and it was snowing. I was there.

Me too. There was also a blustery wind down on the field. Sheesh, what a total fricktarded game to cherry pick out of Denbrock's 2 years of LSU success.

Denbrock did a good job here so I don’t want to disparage him, but he got bailed out a ton because JD could outrun a bad playcall.

Ssssoooo, he could throw 15 passes in the game but none could be screens or flair passes? Got it?
That sounds like a HUGE EXCUSE to the benefit of the OC. I'm not saying to throw the ball down the field 50 yards...more like 8 yards. Once again, Arkansas was a shitty team that had just got DESTROYED by powerful BYU!

Yep, since some think the Arkansas game of 2022 doesn't count, I will bring up the A&M game THIS season...against a good defense to be sure. But if Daniels doesn't improvise on 4th and 6 and make that 50 yard run, LSU likely loses that game. Down 2 scores in the 3rd quarter with A&M getting the ball around midfield. Don't know what the play call WAS but it didn't work. Daniels improvised on that play ALL BY HIMSELF!
