Help refresh my memory...But have any of the recent (Last 10yrs) decommitments went on to have successfully college careers elsewhere? I’m sure there are but I can only think of the higher profile guys like Gunner Kiel, Kain Duab, Felipe Franks etc. that pretty much had disappointing college careers compared to expectations...

Dylan Moses

Verdict is still out on the 2017 class- present.

Major Burns is one I’d look for. I think there is also a OLB that went to Georgia after decommitting from us. Jackson will be a good DL for T A&M

I think they have a few recent ones that may become something. Just looking through 247 recommitment filter it looks far more likely that not many became house hold names. However I would say some that led us on their entire recruitment and then went else where have had success.

Monty Rice, middle linebacker. Hated losing him.

I think the OLB you’re talking about is Adam Anderson. He was a 5 star edge guy from Rome, GA. He committed along with 2 other guys we didn’t sign. His production hasn’t lived up to his lofty ranking.

I don’t remember Monty Rice ever being committed to us. He would’ve been a good pick up though. Rice has been solid for the dawgs.

Caden Sterns at Texas is predicted to be a late first round draft pick this year

Kenyon Green OT- Texas A&M

Jhamon Ausbon WR- Texas A&M

Dylan Moses LB- Alabama

Caden Stearns S- Texas

Those are really the only decommitts over that period that have amounted to much at their chosen schools. And while they're all talented, the only one I look back on and say "man I really wish we could have held on to him" is Kenyon Green.

Yea, Moses is probably the biggest recent name which did produce elsewhere....That’s a good one.... I think Major burns was asked to look elsewhere wasn’t he? Tho I guess definitely would still apply...

I wouldn't classify Anderson's career to long as being successful, so I assumed he was talking about Rice.

We will see what Rakim Jarrett and Jermaine Burton amount to in the future.

He was committed for a few weeks shortly after O was named HC permanently. Supposedly Aranda was all in on him. Rice committed to us after Moses committed to Alabama and I thought he was a damn nice consolation prize. I actually remember thinking Rice was better than Moses, of course Moses was so raw so Rice's highlights were a lot better.

It all worked out in the end because we ended up with Phillips (and Queen was already committed).

Man...that 2017 class was freaking legendary.

And the infamous Pat Surtain which rubs a little raw. Many of us think he has underperformed but he’s been at least solid so far, this year will be the tell, and he is currently the #2 CB projected in the 2021 NFL Draft. While we don’t need a CB, if he were here, our DB depth would be inexplicable rather than just fantastic.
