He is definitely not 6 foot. closer to 5'10" but has a solid frame.

There are pictures of Houston on the internet standing next to various people.

He looks 5'11". He's also 16.

I know Elijah has the physical tools to potentially be great, Hugh ceiling and all. But I always felt like we had more security in Pop & Nuss.

If Haven figures it out he is “Cam Newton-esque”, but if he doesn’t, he’s a bunch of other guys we could name…not a shot at Anthony Richardson, but lol

The odds are stacked against Peyton, maybe he overcomes.... I have my doubts due to History.

Current NFL QBs 5'11 or shorter:

5'10" - Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)
- Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers)
5'11" - Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks)
- P.J. Walker (Carolina Panthers)

Dont know Walker but if he can't beat out Bryce Young I dont need to.
To the point, Murray, Young and Wilson were all fantastic to elite(save Wilson) in college. This is an LSU relevant board so in general we only care what he does at LSU. The NFL stuff is good for bragging and recruiting pitches but in the end, we dont care unless he plays for the Saints(or your favorite team). We've got highly drafted busts and successes, lowly drafted to undrafted busts and successes also. Those results are meaningless as it pertains to how they performed as Tigers. A Tiger legend, let's say Morris Claiborne, is one regardless of pro success or lack thereof. That's what we remember and care about.

For reference our back-up QB, MVB was 5'11.5 on his recruiting profile.

He didn't do too bad playing QB in the SEC as a true FR on a bad State team.

This is all such a weird argument. He just turned 17 a few days ago, just started his junior year in high school and we are determining his future success based on a variable that could and will most likely change. But we cant actually agree on that because we don't know if it actually will matter at all or what his actual current height is either.

Remember gold metalist sprinter Michael Johnson? That's who JD5 remind me of when he's in the open field, so fluid, so smooth, like a Gazelle.

Buddy he just turned 16 and hasn’t even hit his growth spurt yet because I grew 5 inches from 15 to 18 years ended up 6”2 .

JJ was a QB first. He had top end speed but you def wouldn’t describe him an overall shifty or agile player. But he had great escapability and could outrun linebackers and some DBs once he got going.

Peyton is 17, not 16

He's one of the older juniors in his class since his birthday is in Sept

With today’s FB height doesn’t mean as much anymore.20 years ago none of these shorter guys would play.Todays Offenses college and the NFL require athleticism and accuracy in the passing game.

What’s impressed me with him is in watching a highlight tape from his sophomore year you see that he’s hitting digs, crossers, comebacks, posts and not just verts. He also seems to actually go thru a progression on receivers already, and I’ve seen him climb the pocket a few times. Very impressive for a high school kid.

Watched him Friday vs Airline. Very strong arm and mostly likes the long throws, which he throws very accurately. I imagine most likely, like Airline, the safeties can't keep the receivers in front of them. And he can run but almost always runs up the middle. Just from that game, he's got talent! Hope he grows a few more inches!

This isn’t necessarily for u to answer. I would love feedback from anybody. I think Pop is a special young man with talent for days! Why would he be a better QB than JaJuan Johnson? They’re both about the same size: JJ is listed at 6’0” 210lbs and Pop is listed anywhere from 5’10”-6’0” 200lbs. Yet JJ is considered as the best QB in La. High school FB history. He owns pretty much every La. QB statistically. Yet I never hear them or us fans talk about him taking over at QB. Why is that? Am I missing something?

Bro JaJuan doesn't have half the arm that Pop Houston has. Ones a great athlete, the other a great QB. They got two completely different skill sets. Pop threw for 4480 yards last year, he will damn near catch Jujuan career passing yards 10,770 this year with a year to play. By your logic Nick Brossette was a better Rb than Fournette and Trey Quinn a better wr than Jamar Chase.

Yes, You are missing something

Johnson is no where near Houston as a qb throwing the ball.
