This is the one thing that kind of makes me not want him. He took a shot at LSU at his commitment ceremony by picking up the lsu hat and then committing to Texas A&M. That’s not the actions of someone who wanted to be here imo. Seems petty to do that there.

And apparently stupid enough to have it filmed and let the video get out.
I know the video part describes every 18 year old narcissist these days, but not every 18 year old is a high profile football player either.

You sure about that? That's pretty fricking calm. Half my friends at 18 were drag racing and selling drugs ffs.

If your friends were selling drugs maybe you should find better friends

Actually, it would be very interesting to see one of these play out and look at the backlash from the media and from other recruits. A&M would have a hard time selling the "they came because they wanted to be at A&M, we didn't buy them" narrative if one of their boosters took a kid to court for breach of a contract that was obviously tied to them having to play for A&M.

Didn’t TM7 have issues at LSU…? He didn’t physically or sexually assault anyone, these are 17-18 year olds, sure many of us done dumber **** at his age. Goes to show you the ****show Jimbo has, under Kelly, perhaps he can flourish. Some need guidance to truly get the best out of them.

Sorry we weren't born rich and had to scrape by for everything.

Where would you buy your pot from then?

quote:You ever made a decision that you know isn’t right in your heart and then try to convince yourself otherwise? I think he was short sighted and stupid for going to A&M but that’s a lot of money for a family that doesn’t have much. I’m sure the story is the same for every kid A&M signed last year.

Pretty sure out of those half of your friends, none were a five star rated cornerback.
Little different.

Holy oversimplification.

I understand that it may not be a shared opinion of yours, which is fine...no love lost. All i'm saying is that this is a kid. We've had plenty of kids get in "trouble" for doing the same thing from our team...and have went on to clean up their acts, and excel. We also know that kids who aren't athletes do these same types of things, without any consequences at all. The locker room thing, probably is more of a byproduct of where that program is right now. Was it a silly thing to do, yes. I doubt that it hasn't happened anywhere else.

You completely skipped over “smoking weed in the locker room”
You really believe this?
I've read it's more likely that this is A&M fan fiction and the real reason they were suspended was because they were acting like malcontents and openly talking about transferring and recruiting others to transfer as well. That's much more believable to me than the idea that they smoking weed in the locker room.

Wasn't it an empty garage in the middle of the night? I'm not saying that's "normal" behavior, but I don't think it was crowded with pedestrians and other cars at the time.
When I was in college, we used to ride our bikes down the garages late at night. I understand racing a car down them is way dumber, but my point is I don't think it's unheard of for college freshmen to be fricking around in parking garages at night.

Exactly this. Went to a college that was private and often had kids that were wealthy to upper middle class and that was a frequent occurrence, even during the day. These are kids, not criminals.

Night-No
Empty-Not even close, full would be more appropriate
Kid was going like 60 through the garage while live streaming the whole thing
If it was just that incident Im sure people could overlook it or just accept that he made a mistake.
But then he got suspended indefinitely for smoking week in the locker room before a game.
And dont forget he had already been suspended for something earleir in the season as well.

See my post above. Do you really believe this is why he was suspended?
