It would be kinda funny after the way LSU fans acted when he signed. "HAHAHAHA frick LUTHER DAVIS. Sidell is WAAAAAAAY better and we got him instead!!!" Now he'd transfer and be further down the depth chart than...Luther Davis.

I think Clements and Aghayere are a little more exciting in the wings...not to mention Big Sambo choppin' up quarterbacks like Rambo

lynx, you remember what I said about Corley/Chancey a few weeks ago? 
(Now that I've rewatched some HS video on Chancey, I have upped my opinion on him again as I saw some good stuff)
Even when I go back and rewatch the highlights of the spring game, you can see that Corley had trouble even getting off the line of scrimmage at DT against Dworacyzk. He was at least a year away IMO, and not at the level of talent of Lavar Edwards or the guys we brought in this year.
With all that said, I totally wish the best of luck to this kid. He has been through a lot, and I will wish him well no matter what school he ends up at.

Corley got moved inside to DT. I had him at 3rd string at DT.

I could be wrong but I think the chances are pretty slim our other out of state recruits will lose their Mothers also.

I have still never heard of a guy transferring 2 days before the start of fall camp and going to play at a conference rival one month later.

I know he probably would have been eaten up by the depth chart for awhile, but he hasn't even had a chance yet to show anything.
Our DLINE can survive without him though--no doubt about that.

beware of Chancey's video... he is explosive as hell in it, but that was prior to blowing his knee out. I think he is a great talent but I have heard he's lost a little of that explosion

Not 100% positive but from my understanding those two were talking about watching video of Chancey from the Spring Game. Anyway, hopefully Chancey is getting more and more explosive as he gets further from that injury. Been like two years I think.

Where it will hurt a little is at depth for next year and even more in 2011 when he would have been a Senior. We will need Davenport/Edwards/Downs/Hicks to be the DT next to Nevis next year, and then the first three I mentioned to be the main three guys inside in 2011.
This does change my thinking a little that maybe we need to sign one more DL in this class. Maybe this would make the depth chart look better for an Ego or Fre'Shad Hunter too.

The knee injury was a long time ago, so I would think he would be over it by now. Hopefully he is.

Is So. Alabama closer to Mobile than BR. I heard that was the probable school, not Tuscalousa. However, I'm calling BS on this whole rumor as many of you guys are.

On the little video that I've seen of Hicks, he looks talented but raw as hell. He also is only 19 years old I think, so I'm not expecting a Wroten-like impact or anything close to that. On the 45 sec highlight video on lsusports.net, he looks good at DE but plays way too high at DT.
That's all I can tell you about him. If he is way down on the depth chart, I wouldn't mind redshirting him to give him more time to blossom.
