He beat plenty of good teams last year and will again this year. We’ll know more in a couple of weeks. They have 3 of the top 20 teams in the state in their district

How tall is he ? He looked like a giant next to his dad
Posted on 8/31/25 at 9:59 pm to TutHillTiger
I believe that he’s about 6’2” or 6’3”. He’s about an inch taller than my son
Posted on 8/31/25 at 10:02 pm to TutHillTiger
Probably closer to 6’3”. He also plays on the basketball team

That picture is probably over a year old. Colton looks bigger now.

It's from January 2025. But yeah, that was kind of the point.

Not LSU Level Talent. Take away the last name and look objectively.
He's not a ready-made franchise QB, but he's a guy you want in the QB room. Take a proven starter in the portal for the next 2 years and see how young Nuss looks after 2 years in the program.

He is just a junior. He is a 2027 guy so he is 2 yrs out now.

Thanks for sharing. I had not seen tape on him. Doesn't appear to have the arm of his brother. Is more mobile. Still has 2 years of high school development.
Interesting approach to run every play twice in a row. ??

Looks like his game last night was cancelled in the middle of the second quarter due to weather.

Lagway in 26, Colton in 27

Last game was cancelled after 1 quarter b/c of lightning. Some sites had the game as a loss, but it was officially ruled an no contest.
Obviously, in bad storm and wind, it started out as a run game.

Probably. Has good things about him but also has some things to work on.
Like Garrett he needs to set his feet better. Needs a better release.
Unlike Garrett, has better pocket awareness, is more than willing to run. More like Burrow in this respect. He’s faster than Garrett was in high school. He’ll keep a defense honest.
He’s good at keeping his eyes downfield until he crosses the line of scrimmage. He’s shifty. Likes to fake out defenders.
Goes through his progressions. He seems to process quickly.
Again, even though he plays against great competition, it’s still just high school.
I was a QB (not a great one, just good) many years ago and I know what to look for.
Also, I haven’t seen highlights of the other QB’s that LSU is recruiting. Mainly because I was waiting for them to have a few district games under their belts. But I don’t really know what the competition is like in their districts either because it’s changed since I last played.

Colton will be a nice add in addition to Houston. I feel a lot less nervous now if Colton is not our only QB in the class.

Colton looks a better fit for this offense than his brother. More mobile, but not a run-first guy.
Doesnt set his feet - just like big bro.
Throws over the middle when in trouble

Agreed. No matter what, need a portal QB this year and 2 good HS recruits next year.
