Not gonna lie, I specifically remember watching some UA game practices a couple years back and was following Cole Smith since he was like our only guy, or one of our only guys there that year. He performed so bad during the practices I felt bad for him. He was mauled every time I saw him, and was incredibly underweight at like 250-255. I remember he fell quite a bit in the rankings afterwards and coming in underweight and what I saw of him, I never thought he was going to do much.
Not sure why the downvotes, nothing I said was false.

I think some of you are incredibly short sighted if you think this isn't a regular occurrence with other teams as well. You don't hit on every player, even the higher rated ones.

Face it. Every signing class is going to have highly ranked players that underperform, players that were underrated and a handful of projects. The transfer portal is a blessing for top programs. Good players looking for a change of scenery can test the waters and mediocre players that aren’t as good as they think are basically just processing themselves.

How many signing classes lose 1/3 of their members within a year of enrolling?

Exactly. Its a crime this kid, the DE from Ferriday and the TE from Florida are not 4 stars.

How long has the transfer portal been an option? 8 months. I’ll bet close to 1/3 of LSU signees in the past 6 signing classes ended up transferring at some point. The portal and the new redshirt rules just make it easier to do earlier in your career. Baseball players rarely changed teams until a guy name Curt Flood came along and challenged MLB’s reserve clause. College football is evolving in a similar fashion.

Okay, then how many other teams have 1/3 of their class of 2018 gone already?
Posted on 6/23/19 at 2:29 pm to Gravitiger
Right? His argument loses all credibility when you go and look and literally no other school in FBS had 6 players from its 2018 class enter the portal. Throw in Terrence Alexander and Tracy graduating and that’s 8 players gone.

I'm not making an argument. I'm stating an opinion. Florida also had 8 players enter the portal. Alabama had 9 including Jalen Hurts. Texas A&M had 10. Arkansas had 19. And none of these schools lost a player as potentially valuable as Georgia with Justin Fields. Are you going to miss Giles? Do you think Provens would ever see the field with Davis and Emery coming in? Are you really upset about players transferring to SELA, UTSA, Southern and Grambling? I think they are doing LSU a favor.

They don't care their ONLY purpose for being on this board is to bash the head coach. They try to hide the overall purpose and it is comical if they think it is working.
The guys are crying non-stop over the LOWEST rated players from 2018 leaving. It's not like LSU didn't need to lose players to get under the scholarship limit.
It's also not as bad as Florida AND Texas who both lost their top rated signees from THIS YEAR'S class.
That same 2018 class had:
Terrace Marshall
Kelvin Joseph
Ja'Marr Chase
Chasen Hines57 (Played 75 snaps in LSU’s 36-16 win over Georgia as the Tigers racked up 475 total yards)
Micah Baskerville (Played in eight games with one start … Started against Florida and responded by leading the Tigers in tackles)
Badara Traore (played in every game last season with multiple starts)
Chris Curry (played in 4 games and redshirted - Baby Beast Mode)
Damien Lewis (started every game last season)
Jeaux Burrow
Cole Tracy
Avery Atkins
Don't forget that the 2018 class also has:
Dare Rosenthal
Cameron Wire
Kenan Jones (was in the nationals for T&F this season)
Jarell Cherry 6-3 224 who ran the final leg for his HS relay team in 5 or 6-A Texas at the same school Sha'Carri Richardson ran track.
Travez Moore
Damone Clark
Jaray Jenkins
Who were true freshmen this past season.
Yeah, they can go ahead and cry me a river over that shite. I'll take it and continue to laugh at the DRAMA QUEENS.
Go back and look at any LSU recruiting class (even if graduated) and point out one that had more participants than the 2018 already has with the possibility of the others contributing.

so because he looks like Marshawn Lynch he will be as good as him??
I won't hold my breath.

none of these guys have done anything of note, which is exactly why you have to say "DONT FORGET ABOUT THESE PLAYERS" because most fans probably have.

Nope, that is his nickname. If you were an LSU fan and had been on the recruiting board before deciding to expand your misery you would have know this.
I'm really not surprised in the least that this is the first time you have ever seen this and didn't have a clue about it.
“Baby Beast Mode” | Does Chris Curry live up to his nickname? We asked the LSU defenders who’ve tried to tackle him

My god son, did you just fall out of a turmip truck. Did you bump your head in the fall or was it already damaged?

In this story, numbers on each recruiting class. One that stings? The 2015 class, where 39% of the signees have already transferred or been dismissed.
From the 2014-2016 classes, only 32 signees (44%) remain on the team right now.
A long read on the state of the #LSU scholarship chart, including insight on moves Orgeron's had to make.
And your dumbass is crying about the 2018 class? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !!!!!!!!!!!!
