Absolutely not. The way Clemson does that is terrible and disgusting. Are you retelling me they wouldn’t drop a committed player of a way higher rested one wanted in. This is a life changing decision for these kids and they should be able to consider their choices the duration of the process. The Clemson way is on par with a petulant child throwing a fit. It is not something to be modeled, it should be shamed out of existence.

I think that a major portion of what Dabo has been able to do has been deeply rooted in his ability to bring back seniors for their 4th year of eligibility. I don't think that you can say that we have a "problem" with losing so many entrants into the draft because our pipeline to the NFL exposes us to so many recruits, but Clemson has been able to reap the fruits of returning talent at a pretty high rate.
A quick look puts us losing 19 underclassmen over the past 3 years, whereas Clemson loses 9. That's our haul from this season alone.
I don't really know how to look this up efficiently, and I could be wrong, but it feels like Clemson always has a few fifth-year seniors that are key contributors. I know that we had Joe and that a few players over the years that waited for their turn to start, but it seems that Clemson keeps them fairly well.
There are obviously players like Devin and Leonard, who had every reason to leave, but there's a dozen Valentine's right there. Someone said it earlier in the thread, but I feel that consistency in the staff helps just as much with this as it does with signing new recruits.
They're good problems to have. I mean, our pipeline, our bloodline, and our success maintain our position to sign elite recruits. The consistency, I think, will help us to convince the guys that we do sign to pass up decent money to come back and better their positions for a bigger payday.

Dominated may be a strong word but with the exception of the transition year 2017 & this year, LSU has been ahead 4 or more spots. this class is only 1 spot behind Clemson.
Haven’t they signed less than 25 a few times also? I know that the last 5-7 years, they have done a way better job of developing players than anyone in the country.

Orgeron is not going to adopt Clemson policy. LSU is always going to reach for big time players that all the big programs are competing for. LSU just got back to the top.
What we have done is stop waiting around for in state players romancingother programs and stringing us along.
We have another year in Louisiana with offensive lineman. Have to recruit out of state again. If we get one of the top QBs in 2021 class then we will know the program is likely sustainable at this level.
LSU is going to have a very good year in 2020.

Yep the people wishing for LSU to just completely fall off after this great season have their heads so far up their azz it’s hopeless for them to see much of anything.
Our running game will be better, our OL will still be very good, our QB will be top 5 in the SEC, our coaching may take a slight hit (and I say may?). Our defense will be very good, our WR group could be better by adding these TEs, our ST’s should be even better.
Myles B. has gotten substantially better and if you look at his last few games he stood in their and made some great throws while under pressure. LSU needs to make a great Offensive hire or two but other than that we will be a very good team who is extremely tough to beat. Ed O is still the coach here so we won’t lose that toughness which is key imo.
Shoot LSU could revert back to the I-formation style game and win lots of games next year. That won’t happen but we could do it and still be 10-2 in the regular season. We are extremely talented and deep. Going to a 4-3 might be good for us. That defense, if played to our players strengths could be just as multiple or more so. With the type of players we have on this roster, Bo Pelini will have a field day coming up with blitz packages. Imo Aranda didn’t us this enough which made our defense a little more predictable than it could have been.
I believe Bo Pelini will make it look more multiple with his blitzes. We have huge run stuffing players but also have speed and size to overwhelm any OL. We happen to have the perfect secondary to make this extremely effective. I’m expecting much more TO’s and sacks or pressure on the QBs we face. He can always pull back when the time comes to pull back as well. Mix that up and our defense will thrive, making our offense even more explosive.
The size and speed we will have at WR and TE will be elite. There won’t be another team in the country better than LSU’s talent next year on offense. Myles B is more than capable to run an efficient offense, especially with a more attacking style of defense to work with on the other side. It’s going to be fun to watch. I feel bad for the cake opponents next season. We will dominate those guys and overwhelm them with our tough defense alone. Can’t wait to see this 2020 Tigers team and who the new leadership additions will be on offense. GT

I added recruits on the end of each. Over that time period LSU 146, Clemson - 130. What I don’t know is how late qualifiers and grad transfers play into these numbers, I don’t think people who are not committed and sign/enroll after spring, including Grad Transfers who graduate in may like Burrow did, are not counted in these rankings but may take up a scholarship for that year. So the numbers are likely not the full story.
2015
LSU -5 - 24
Clem -9 - 26
2016
LSU-2 - 27
Clem-11 - 21
2017
LSU-7 - 24
Clem-16 - 14
2018-
LSU-15 - 22
Clem-7 - 17
2019
LSU-5 - 25
Clem-10 -29
2020
LSU-4 - 24
Clem-3 - 23

These we want kids to learn "the value of commitment people" are kind of the worst. Also, we just literally pulled in our highest rated class ever. I don't want LSU to act like Clemson in recruiting. Seriously, frick that wimpy arse bullshite.

That actually is Dabo's policy. Once you commit, your spot is safe and you will not be dropped unless you get in serious trouble or don't project to qualify. In return, you don't visit other schools. He wants players to take visits elsewhere if they are not 100% sure they are done when they commit.
He also doesn't take JUCOs or grad transfers. His stance is that taking them would not be right to the existing HS kids that were signed.
