This class was ranked 7th in the country in 2017. I doubt that there were 6 better classes than this one. LINK

Very underrated class by all recruiting services.

That’s one of the most productive classes top to bottom we’ve had

Pretty much coach O's first class that he held intact after miles got fired with only 1 decommit that I can recall. Only 5 kids ended up leaving but 4 if justin thomas comes back.

Unreal how many players hit from that class

Need to bump this thread every year around ESD to remind new comers that the coaches don't always recruit according to star ratings.

and the last one in, and lowest rated made the most of his LSU career above all.

That was an awesome class, great post. There were only 3-4 players that were busts or are not on the team anymore, and at least 14 NFL players. When Justin Jefferson is your lowest rated recruit, you've got a pretty good class.

Todd Harris is going to ball out next year. Shame he got hurt so early in the season and missed out on this magic, he'll come out with something to prove next season.

Taylor would’ve been a 1st round pick

I say at least 13 drafted, perhaps more will be...

Clyde was a 3 star. Now he is the best RB in the SEC.

That class is the backbone of this team.

Thxs for the reminder.
Proper evaluation by our coaches is key here.
It doesn’t seem like we missed on many of the 2017 class.

I typically don't bash recruiting ranking services because they have an agenda, a job to do, to generate attention and revenue.
But the 2017 class is one reason that I trust knowledgeable coaching staffs much more than recruiting services.
Orgeron knows the kind of players that mentally and physically fit best at LSU. He sees more than the stars. When classes full of three and four-stars with a spattering of 5* guys gives us a team like we have right now, it proves the inconsistency of recruiting rank services.

Todd Harris will get a redshirt this year and be a junior next year, and potentially a starter. It will end up working out better for him in the long run.
