Sorry I thought this would be Orgeron's greatest strength and he'd know what to do. Now you're saying I have to figure it out for him? Why did we hire this guy again?

Christ you are pathetic.

The decline began when Miles hired Greg Studdrawa to be the OC. Who in this entire world of football believed Studdrawa could match wits with Nick Saban? Nobody with any football sense. My issue with O is running Canada off, but that's a different topic. Surtain said, 'Bama wins championships.' That's the crux of his decision. Anybody that blames O from not winning a championship this past season is a frickin idiot. Miles and his ego destroyed everything Saban had built here, and to build it back up is going to take wins and championships. And that takes time.

literally the primary selling point of O was his recruiting
if he can't recruit at an elite level, then what are his remaining selling points?

Bottom line is kids are lazy these days In this fast-paced world we live in,they want to jump on the championship bandwagon instead of winning your own national championship at the school you love

Schools and HC's are lazy these days. They want kids to come to their school even when championships are an afterthought.

But O's fan club told us he had an impressive record in his first year. Not so?

You can detect the inherent stupidity in the O supporters just from the way they type on a message board. It’s a good reminder really, of how many truly stupid people there are in the world. One of the worst things about the ubiquity of the Internet is it gives everyone a voice, even people who are too stupid to voice an opinion on anything

Your thread started out pretty good then tailed off to shear stupidly. What do kids look for:
1) Stability at head coach. We lose there.
2) Direction of the program. Another negative.
3) Offensively kids want a creative and aggressive style where their talents can be featured. We have a ten year offensive track record of futility.
4) Defensively, Arranda is the best IMO but he may not be great in the living room. Combine that with number 1 and 2 from above and we lose some recruits.
The state of our program is certainly used against us by other schools.

There is no blame, championship teams get the best players. You never under any circumstance pull for your conference foe and rival to win a championship. Nothing will make you irrelevant faster.

Yes you can. He has turned the program into an unstable , chaotic mess. Coach infighting, hires of questionable value. Plug is out of the boat. He better start up the bilge pump. At this time we are mid tier and can't compete with the likes of Bama and Clemson, HELL even Troy.. So yes its on him. Solidly on him.

If Orgeron gets a pass on recruiting, the one thing he was supposed to be able to do at a high level,
That statement is so true, let's see how many people actually understand that.

You absolutely blame O for losing the one guy who was a lock here for years.

If every recruiting failure should be blamed on the HC, then Les Miles should be sued for malfeasance in office.
Les Miles last 2 classes finished ranked in the top 5. This one will be outside the top 10.
