People need to keep this in perspective.

A week ago Sentimore was going to Bama. LSU had decided not to offer him several times. At the 11th hour, LSU finally offers..comes close...but falls short.

We're in exactly the same position we were a week ago, when nobody cared that he wasn't coming to LSU.

Let it go. This one didn't work out. It's telling that LSU was almost able to turn him in a single week.

I question miles in this one

Offer the guy a week before NSD?
If we were gonna offer anyway, we could have had him locked up if we only offered earlier.

Wow, makes me wish I would pony up and pay with 'inside' info such as this. Mike is really earning his paycheck.

No, no. He is on the radio right now. I did not mean to start any crap about his or anyone else's site.

drewb: remind him of the advantages of going to LSU after football. If he lives in La. he will always be a Tiger and treated as such. If he goes to Bama, he will always just be another OOS guy that the Bamers will all forget about after his time there.

Remind him also how Saban always honors his commitments.

I've got a BAD feeling about this...
Particularly for Sentimore.
LSU will be fine, obviously, but this is a very important decision for the young man and parents can be manipulated as well as kids.
This recruiting saga has not been as simple or straightforward as anyone would like, and feelings may have been hurt. One wonders if that is being exploited.
I wish him the very best, but going to bama under these circumstances sure burns some bridges at home. That may not be fair or right, but I'm afraid its true.

Well if he didnt have charachter issues before then he sure does now.

I think this whole past weekend was a game he played and was to show up the coach's for not offereing him sooner.

Now he has locked himself in to a miserable place when in the dark moments before sleep he will regret it every day the rest of his life.

Sad really he couldnt listen and get his grades in order instead of blaming LSU and everyone else for his lack of paying attn. to his studies.

Honoring his commitment is a character issue to you?

I agree Calco. Perhaps he is making this decision out of emotion, which is the worst way to make a decision. For Saban to preach about the virtues of honoring a commitment is laughable. Fair or not, the simple fact is he will not win any favors after football in this state.

Well I think they should honor their commitments

However, these kids are 17/18 years old..and if they have a real change of heart, they should be able to switch without everyone giving them grief over it.. and then saying they don't have character.. That baloney..their coaches leave all the time.. there is no guarantee from the coaches.

These kids are under enonomous pressure
