I think Miles slow-played him because he was in the mix with kids that he had rated higher, and because his grades were a mess. Miles knew that DS would accept an offer it were made early, and he was trying to juggle the spaces available in this class.
Saban had DS rated higher than anyone else Bama was in the mix for and offered him.
The grades issue is on DS, and he needs to own up to that. Maybe if he was qualified earlier, we would be sweating someone else right now. But if he feels an obligation to honor his committment, then I cant blame him for that.
At least with the love we've shown him lately, when he gets out of JC in 2 years, we've got a good shot to land him then.

if he's dumb enough to fall for the "your word is your bond" shtick from Saban, he was only suited for a food services gig anyway. he may regret it later when he finds "the writing on the wall" means he has to give up his scholly to make room for another oversigned class.

Dont get me wrong, I'm sure it wasnt the kid's first time at a party. But that's not something a parent is gonna appreciate.

i don't know how well you know him but i'd be very careful what you say. i'd start out with a "whats up" or a "hows it going man" and a little joke like "you need to come clean your puke off my porch, lol" then ask the question after he responds to you. "tell me its not bama" maybe
