Texas does not need to negatively recruit against LSU to get players from the state of Texas. The one carrot teams like LSU, Ark and Bama had over Texas was come play in the SEC with the best players. That advantage is now gone. The key will be can Texas ever figure out the head coach and get that right. I still don't think Sark is the long term coach of that program. He hasn't done much more than Herman at this point.

The LA players they have gotten recently has more to do with NIL money over negative recruiting.

If you’re taking about Arkansas then sure but for schools like LSU and Bama there is plenty to sell in their own right.

There is absolutely nothing about Texas that makes it a more attractive place to play, except maybe that there are way and I mean WAY more distractions there in a city that, for the most part, doesn’t care about the program anywhere near the same level as they do in places like Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa.

Well this take is just flat out retarded. One of our top recruiters on staff is JR Belton. How did his college career play out?

How the frick does that compare?

dem Joseph brothers from Marrero (Shaw) did pretty well for themselves. My brother played against Mickey & Vance as they were amazing QB's

Mickey (currently not coaching)
Vance (Denver Broncos - DC)
Sammy (Nicholls State RB coach)
Terry (Texas DB coach)
Derrick (sports trainer in NOLA)

No one’s going to Texas because of Brandon and Harris. They’re going there cause I get a big fat bag. That’s all that matters.

You don't know Brandon then

He's a good guy, sincerely. He still loves LSU.

Man that kid was never given a fair shake with a system. I've never seen a QB operate more with 2 receivers from the I.

Harris sells himself, doesn't negative recruit lsu

So you think that in a discussion about Harris possibly using his experience at LSU 2 coaches ago to negatively recruit against LSU is somehow comparable to LSU hiring a staffer that QB'ed at LA Tech?

Yeah, you're stupid.

I do believe that this will hurt Arkansas and likely A&M. Texas ain't Bama though, and typically when LSU has a competent HC and is winning at a high level, LA kids don't leave the state.

Well, he was hot diarrhea under center. I don’t hold that against him personally, but it is pretty comical that any of these kids would take his word about becoming something at a major program. It is what it is. Like it’s been said, he’s just doing his job.

Some of you are clueless

Recruits don’t give a shite about Brandon’s playing career

He’s a good dude and a great communicator. That was apparent back in his playing days.

CBK is making a mistake if he doesn’t make Brandon a member of this staff asap

No one hates him. He didn’t play up to his star status. He was given every opportunity here, including starting as a true freshman. He may end up being one of those guys who is a better coach than player. As as junior with almost two seasons of experience he started the 2016 season by going 12/21 with two pics against Wisconsin. One was inside the 20. He had LF7 in the backfield, who was the best play action decoy ever. Guy wasn’t accurate and couldn’t read defenses. The next week against Jacksonville St (FCS opponent) he went 1/4 and had to relieved by Danny Etling. He didn’t play much after that at LSU. He went to UNC the next year where he competed 49% of his passes with a 1TD/8 INT ratio before being benched. Guy just couldn’t play at the college level.

Are you angry that LSU coach Robert Steeples, who played at Missouri, has been instrumental in recruiting Missouri kids to LSU? Including Mekhi Wingo who he coached in high school and recruited as a transfer from the Missouri football team.

Coach Steeples has brought in 4 players from his former high school.
JK Johnson CB transfer from Ohio St.
Seth Malone LB
Mac Markway TE
Mekhi Wingo DL transfer from Missouri.

Maybe, maybe not...

Stop talking shite about players that don't perform well on the field... sounds like a simple fix to me.
