It's partially Benton's fault. If he took care of his grades in high school he would be going into his Jr season at LSU right now. I feel bad for him, but he's still going to Auburn (a very good university). Not exactly something to hang you head over.

If the Jackson saga had not happened I think the majority of the complaints on here would be directed at Randle's family for pulling the crap about Benton and depth chart. and probably rightly so.

I sure hope Coach Miles does some fence-mending with Bastrop Head Coach Brad Bradshaw. He said he wasn't real happy with the way the whole Benton-Randle thing came down.

And who could blame him. For 2 years this guy busted his butt to get Benton eligible. He did it not only for the kid but also for LSU. There is no way he puts out that much effort for any other school. We don't need to be pissing off Louisiana High School coaches........not with the way recruiting is getting now. We need every friend we can get.

I don't think Coach Miles had much of a choice. He was caught between a rock and a hard place. We could not afford to again lose the top recruit in the state, especially to a competitor in our own division.

I just hope Coach Miles does the right thing and contact Coach Bradshaw with a little TLC. And I think Coach Miles will.

I am glad you posted this, I have been thinking about this a lot today..

I think Miles should drive up there next week and get that chat done.. It's important to do these things in person, and it will pay Miles dividends down the road..

Miles was put in a very bad spot... I don't understand why Benton and Randle didn't want to play together..

Heck all we heard for months was taking the pressure off of Julio

Wasn't Bradshaw talking bad about the Auburn coaches a week or so ago?? Seems like something happened between the two. But anyway, it is very important that Miles & Bradshaw talk about the situation that occured, just to make sure everything is ok.

Bradshaw should have been there for Benton more than three years ago. Randle's dad should have kept his opinion in house. Someone should have found out about the friction between the two recruits long before this time. this could fall on Bradshaw, Elmo Randle(whatever his name is), and or whoever was recruiting Randle

it doubt is a big ordeal

if Randle tears it up, kids from Bastrop will want to be the next him.

Brad Bradshaw had OU812 thrown out of a West Monroe/Bastrop game in 1998 for "relaying signals" from the Bastrop sidelines to the West Monroe coaches, all while he was running the sideline chains. What a idiot!

I don not blame Bradshaw for being pissed. Miles was put in a jam here, and he needs to mend the fences. I nice spot at LSU's football camp and good steak dinner might help

Bradshaw actually asked the Auburn coaches not to contact Benton again, because he was going to LSU.. it does sound like Randle and Benton talked about all of this though, and decided that they both didnt want to go to the same place, but both wanted to go to LSU.. so the decision was made by Miles, because no one else would make it.. i wish Miles would have just said 'there is a spot for both of you', and let the chips fall where they may.. at worst, we would have gotten Benton, probably both..

Or we could have lost Randle then have Benton not make the grades like RJF and end up with nada.

that option wasn't on the table. The guy who has done all the right things got the spot.

Bradshaw is definitely a friend of LSU, but he's never forced anyone here. If we continue to be successful Bastrop kids will continue to come play here

There are only a handful of people that really know what transpired. And nothing I've read really explains things satisfactorily.

If there's tension between Miles & Bradshaw it by all means needs to be resolved. Win-win situation.

Bradshaw has made a decision. His players can only be recruited by Tenn.

And Bradshaw and Randle's pop allegedly had a falling out because Bradshaw wanted Randle to go to LSu and his father didn't.

I 2nd this. Miles would have taken a huge chance if he took Benton over Randle. We could have ended up with no WR in the end if Benton can't keep his grades up. Its unfortunate it came to this but it is what it is. CLM is a class act so I am sure he will make things good if there is any riff between he and Bradshaw.
