Bone, Watts, and Wiltfong all on the Bama train now for Ricks. I hate Nick Saban

Must be tough for Watts. He said Ricks wasn’t very good two days ago.

I’m not even surprised. This happens every year with some big recruit. They look to be leaning to LSU, the “experts” all say that he’s LSU’s to lose, some 11th hour bullshite happens and the day of their commitment, everyone flips their prediction to Alabama and they choose the Tide. I’m honestly surprised people didn’t see this coming.

LET HIM GO!! It is totally not good for the rest of our very good players receiving much smaller NIL $$. Will destroy team morale... I do not want to pay him 1 PENNY MORE than Perkins got. I will keep telling some of these shortsighted posters...

If money is all that matters to him, we'll kick his arse just like we did Eli. We'll be more than fine.

I read Watts words from a couple days ago and I feel much better. Apparently Ricks is not an elite player in the eyes of Saban and his staff. They view him as a guy who could maybe start by year 2 or 3 in the program and is a depth/backup guy for them. They wanted Brown who went to Miami. He was their elite target.

Ricks is seen as a rotational guy who lacks that difference making ability.

So if that’s the case he’s overrated and wouldn’t have been a difference maker here either

I’m excited to see what tmrw brings

Any IMG guy between LSU and Bama ends up at Bama, and that's just a fact. I have a similar rule of California recruits. Eventually they end up closer to home no matter what they say leading up to signing day.

Stop pursuing IMG recruits and California kids unless they're breaking down the door to come to Baton Rouge.

Eli Ricks might be the only IMG recruit LSU has signed but of course he still defected to Bama. Time to stop messing around.

If the kid doesn’t want to be at LSU then I don’t want him wearing an LSU uniform. It sucks to lose guys to competing SEC schools but I would rather them go elsewhere if they turn around a year from now and end up in the portal.

This didn’t just happen in the 11th hour. As mentioned last week, LSU knew for a couple of weeks it was trending this way. If the Tigers can win more than they lose to Bama going forward, they will stop losing players to them.

So LSU saw his a a difference maker and probably day 1 starter and Bama sees him as a year 3 starter and situational rotation player and he's still choosing to go to Bama. That's not ideal.

It’s a huge move when you can land a top recruit that “weakens” a top team you face. Unfortunately, IMO the NIL stuff is only going to make it worse since kids know the play and can use it as leverage. It would take a conservative effort across the board to cut this kind of stuff out but we all know that’s not happening.

You think watts was just butt hurt?

ETA: We’ve already established why he’s going to bama. It’s not about football

Yup and usually the recruit doesn't pan out to the hype. Obviously still hope Desmond Ricks still comes to LSU.

If this is about scholarship money. That’s not going to matter much.

The strongest recruiting pitch that Saban has is this:

“Every player I’ve signed and stayed in school has won a national championship.”

That’s tough to compete with. Doesn’t resonate with every kid, but certainly does with a lot of them.

Tells me the kid isn't very bright or all he cares about is biggest bag. Two traits that aren't ideal.

He wanted to. But it you're at a job and you get offered a different job for double the money, you don't turn it down
