Might have to consider Peoples who's a great coach anyway.

Curious how they fill that last slot if so.

If that is true, I do not want him; that is not too smart.

I'm only speculating. He's not getting paid that much at Florida. They'd have to give him a big raise to bring him over. I would guess they at least doubled his salary and he still turned LSU down. Some coaches are not going to find it attractive they have to take a step down to only coach DTs.

CEO is considered one the best DL coaches ever. That's not me. That's everyone else in the coaching business who says that.

The Bridge was burned down far too many times for any consideration - even as a water boy . . .

lol I like how this board has absolutely zero consistency whatsoever with respect to questions of money. When Jahkeem stewart takes the biggest payday, he's an idiot whose decision to prioritize money shows that we probably don't want him anyway... but when Chatman turns down the biggest payday, he's also an idiot, and his decision NOT to prioritize money shows that we probably don't want him anyway.

Odd... almost like people are just trying to make themselves feel better when we lose out on someone we wanted...

Lol what? This isn't true at all. He's a good recruiter (or was one, at least), no question. And his Louisiana ties made his recruiting prowess especially valuable to out-of-state programs (Miami, USC). But he's really never been viewed as anything much more than average as an actual coach and developer.

For one thing, his brand of go-go-go recruiting is much less valuable in the NIL era, where sheer stamina in relationship-building and -maintenance is no longer enough to get signatures. And for two, we're already operating at more-or-less max capacity with respect to our in-state recruiting: The kids we lose are pretty much always money-centric losses or kids who were looking to leave the state all along. O doesn't do much to help with either of those categories. And if he's not bringing a ton of recruiting value then he's not bringing much value in general - and certainly not enough to justify the circus that would unquestionably result.

Lonn was full of shite. He just throws darts at the wall and hopes 1 or 2 stick.

He's on X right now saying Davis is not coming anymore
