Coach said after signing day, kids said they were coming and didn't

Also the staff may have handled certain recruits wrong ( mainly Louisiana kids)

Why does there have to be blame? Recruiting is not and never will be predictable. Some kids who are projected to be stars are busts and some kids who after thoughts turn into superstars. At the end of the day things generally work out, so I see no point in calling out the coaches on a team headed to the CFP because they are clearly doing an outstanding job.

Blame the staff and insiders for providing false hope to the fanbase.

Team already had 25 commits at the time, but staff had to make room for much better talent

Granted we did get dumerville, guillory , and Webb, but at a bigger cost imo (8 decommits?)

Don’t get me wrong, I love the 3 LSU got but they got played by handful of other, no reason to open up spots if there wasn’t 100% certainty that would join

Guess it depends on how LSU closes to see if it worked itself out

More than likely you are in no position to blame anyone. It’s recruiting. Live with the results or don’t follow.

Sounds like normal recruiting to me and this happens every cycle. The situation is compounded this year because LSU beat Alabama, won the SEC, is ranked #1, has a Heisman Trophy winner, and expectations are win the NC.

I have no doubt top recruits were contacting coaches expressing a desire to be a part of the LSU experience. Fans believed it and everyone was on cloud 9 anticipating the top recruiting class on ESD. One thing we’ve learned that has been proven time and time again, never trust a 17-18 year old kid until the facsimile is received.

This shite happens every year.
Recruiting gurus, sometimes selling scripts. make bold predictions and some don’t sign, but some fans believe every word they say, then melt when we don’t get everyone mentioned.

A story older than time itself.

The fact is, if signing day was the day after SEC championship, LSU would have landed some of these we didn’t get.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. After a few days to reflect on signing day, I think it is normal for us all to be disappointed in the ways things played out. For a few weeks, things were trending towards a blowout day.

What we ended up getting was a very good day with a potential to fill out the class in an even better way. What we don’t want is to take a kid who causes problems from the start.

No need to blame anyone. This will turn out good in the end for the Tigers.

Well I just want to say thank you...for starting yet another thread on everybody’s opinion from early signing day.
Obviously, your thought was so profound you felt the need to start yet another new thread, rather than sharing it in on of the previous 500 on the same subject
So here’s to you Mr. New Thread Man

There is no such thing as 100% in recruiting.
