Orgeron has done a lot of good and is putting together one of the best seasons ever. Still every human makes mistakes and he did. He played his cards poorly in the ESD. That’s undeniable.

I had s thread saying the same stuff but going into more detail and it got whacked, hopefully yours stays up because you are correct.

For people not to acknowledge their past mistakes they are doomed to repeat them in the future.

We have an awesome class and we are sure to win championships with this classes help, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know things didn’t go as well as planned. Coach O said the night before signing they expect to sign 23 to 23 recruits. We only signed 19. So to say things went well across the board would be a lie.

Hopefully the coaches learn from their mistakes, I have confidence they will this ESD stuff is still in its infancy the coaches will tighten things up. But rest assured what happened just lit a fire under Coach O you know how much pride he takes in Crootin so you know he is going to be all over those remaining boyz like stink-on-shite and we will close strong as hell.

when was the last time we lost/processed 5 or 6 commits and lost 3 or 4 strong leans. I don't remember that. The Landon Collins year was bad, but I think this is worse. That's why we ended up with 19.We didn't replace these losses. I doubt we get to 25 this year despite having the best season of all time. Where are all those kids knocking down the door?

Yeah... no, that’s not how it works.

Terrible take.

Summed up to perfection.

No knock against O. shite happens, and certainly it’s not all avoidable when it involves whims of teenagers and the wills of mega $$ boosters (ours included).

But undeniably O made mistakes. The man said himself the night before that he expected to sign 22-23. So he was certainly left disappointed.

Coach O brings honesty to the table when he speaks. And for that I certainly admire him. There isn’t much “Coach speak” in his press conferences. And though the delivery (gravelly Cajun accent) may be difficult for some, the clarity is light years ahead of our last coach. And I find that refreshing.

He did say that. Anyone saying he didn’t make some mistakes is being disingenuous

I would say he made a calculated risk, and I approve. We didn’t lose much, and stood to gain much more. Plus, recruiting isn’t over and if we don’t sign 25 we can sign extra next year.

Im a true lsu fan, had to cousins play for lsu under satan and both went on to have nfl careers, one is a Superbowl champ.

I think Ceo wanted to get instant impact players and trusted the words of parents and recruits. I think coach o needs to go back to his old ways some in recruiting

Yeah, the same staff that has delivered the elusive Bama win, the SEC West, the SEC title and a playoff berth is delivering false hope....

It was 2 or 3 and one (Clowney) has apparently been wavering on his commitment anyway.

17-18 year old kids like trolling.
17-18 year old kids don't always know or do what may be in their best interest.

Anybody who is pissed off because a 17-18 year old football recruit decided not to sign with a school that person happens to be a fan of and wants to "blame" someone like Vol or coaches is an absolute fricking moron.

Why would we blame anyone until after February. We have had a great recruiting year as it is

Why is processing a corner who had a bad senior year and a defensive lineman when we will finish with 4 or 5 of them a bad decision. If you had 5 quarterbacks committed you drop one of them because you don’t take that many at any position regardless of need. It leaves room for attrition and people to transfer out

Blame? I give credit for meeting the teams needs.
Somewhere there is a running back that will meet our needs prior to next season.
We are here, and we are staying.
