BK gets it!! It such a breathe of fresh air compared to O and crew. I loved O but he ain't in the same stratosphere as Kelly as having a plan.

48 days till we show the out in the dome!

I really hope CBK loves recruiting because that's where successful programs start.

The quote eludes to BK learning that recruiting is 24/7 in the half year he’s been at LSU.

Sounds like ND fans could be right based off that

What is he supposed to say? He has been coaching and succeeding at a high level for decades. Recruiting for Notre Dame is different. He's not fighting the same schools over and over again for the same recruits. He didn't have an Alabama and an A&M calling every recruit every day.

So, you DON'T think the SEC is a different animal than Notre Dame?

Not quite...ND has extensive recruiting and the benefit of a national and strong list of active graduates of some importance who carry weight in local markets. Knew an assitant head coach there who was amazed at their recruiting strength. Altho I suspect like all things it has diminished some in the past 5-10 years but it's a force.

You gotta either look up the meaning or spell it right in the first place, Less.

Meh, if there is anything we can not bitch about with O, it is recruiting effort.

Freeman can’t coach a lick and is about to go 0-2 after Ohio state boat races them in the season opener.

I wouldn’t go that far. He’s been successful as a coordinator, however, being the HC at a place like Notre Dame is a different beast. There’s a reason coordinators don’t always make great head coaches. People at ND will tell you everything is great and they’re excited about recruiting and the way Freeman has brought new energy. Deep down, they’re all nervous as hell.

In a separate interview, he admitted that he wasn't as involved in recruiting at ND as he is here.

He said the assistant or coordinator would handle the majority and that he took part at certain times and what not.

But in the SEC, we're recruiting against elite level teams for every player.... and the head coaches talk to the players. They have to. You can't let a recruit brag that he's talked to Saban, and Smart and Lane.... and our HC is too busy to not roll his sleeves up lol

It's competitive in the SEC and I'm glad he's engaged and involved in recruiting.
