No great QB’s but played against RB Anthony Thomas at Winnfield. He was near unstoppable as a freshman.

Probably the best one year starter I remember is Joel Thomas at Captain Shreve in 1973. Tied Joe Ferguson's touchdown record at 35 and won the state championship in AAAA while sitting out most second halfs of games.
Saw Perrilloux who was incredible, Stan Humphries was a good one, Berlin, both Booty brothers, Bubby Brister, David Caldwell who went to Ole Miss. BTW Berlin was very good in high school, but truly was the second best quarterback on that team. Brent Rawls was an incredible athlete.

Ferguson had 40 TDs, not 35. So no, Joel didn't tie that record or come close to the yardage records Ferguson set.

Played against Kevin Faulk. Technically he was playing QB most of the time lol
