re: Best Local Highschool QB have you seen playPosted by OLDBEACHCOMBER on 12/20/17 at 8:27 am to Carville
John Fourcade
Tommy Wilcox
Ryan Perriloux
Bubba Brister
Bobby Hebert
Timmy Byrd
Peyton manni8ng
Eli Manning
Jordon Jefferson
Althought Ryan Perrlioux made many highlight reel plays and others had great ability. The "Best High" QB I've seen was Timmy Byrd.
Ryan Perriloux made his biggest plays off broken plays. many times he could have just run the damn play. The Manning's passed were beautiful.
But Byrd ran the team like he invented football. Only after a play broke down did he adlib, and he did it well. He was a very accurate passer. Had he gone to Arkansas, Oklahoma or Nebraska he'd have started. Yes, like the poster said he was very good at Basketball (his Dad was his HS coach)He was also a college caliber defensive back IMO. But HS QB? Byrd was the best I've seen.

Teams win championships, and that team had the state MVP at RB, and a number of all-district linemen.

My older brother was a teammate of Bucky at Broadmoor. He literally is a legend to the Buccanners..
Speaking of Option QB play:
Shyrone Carey at Shaw
Kevin Faulk at Carencro

Umm, no. On a neutral field, that team loses by three TD’s to Wilcox and Bonnabel. Ask Ed O or Bobby and they will tell you that SL loses 9 times if those teams play 10 times. Ain’t no SL RB MVP...Only All State was the little LB, Dillon. Know what you’re talking about before posting nonsense.

Corey Webster won a state championship in football and basketball. he did whatever he wanted to on the field and the court.
He's the best I've seen, but I don't go watching high school football anymore since I haven't been in high school in 20 years and my kids aren't there yet.

This. If he could've kept his head on straight at LSU, who knows where the program would be today. He was a freak athlete. Probably could've played college baseball AND basketball on top of football.

Andrew Luck was the best I have seen in 62 years of watching high school football.
Peyton Manning and Jake Delhomme are the only two that I can say with experience. I have seen Manning play in high school in person, and he was sick. I played against Jake Delhomme when Teurlings was in our district for a couple years. He was accurate as hell, and he could run. He beat us like a rented Mule. He was also really good in basketball, but he couldn't beat us there.

OK all you young pups, listen up:
Warren Rabb = a Baton Rouge boy who led LSU to a NC !!!
Warren Rabb = a Baton Rouge boy who led LSU to a NC !!!
I was at Patterson when Ike Hilliard was playing, so I guess he'd be the best player in general. But I did get to see the playoff game against Newman with Peyton Manning beating us, and I guess he'd fit the spirit of this thread. Ike was no joke, though.
