On3 - 90.00 4star
247 - 87.00 3star

Kind of a big discrepancy. The scores are usually a lot closer.

Does this mean he’s good or not good?

Supposedly just struggles with blocking but is a decent receiving threat. One site probably values one more than the other from the TE position.

He’s a tiger now so I don’t really care.

If he's masons replacement, then he's a high rated 4 star. If we want him to block he's a low 3 star.

Ratings are just guesses based off production or highly rated of high school. This kid has solid production, vs a womack who's done nothing yet but looks like he could be a freak and have explosive year.

All depends on how guys will be used in systems.

Hes a really solid get for us, and just need blocking te now. If we go and get another solid starting level te, you'll see Kelly run more 2 te run sets like he used to at notre dame. Allows for some easy play action too.

Kelly said in his presser that what he liked about him was his physicality. I see him as a better blocker but slightly less talented pass catcher compared to Taylor.

He's a pretty good mix of a blocking TE that can catch a lot of balls too.

Love to see us outbid others for the Arkansas kid to pair with him.

As long as that doesn’t come at the expense of other positions that are now bigger needs.

I think BK's ideal plan is to pair Sharp with either Hasz or Max Klare out of the portal.

Don’t care about stars. Care more about production and production at the P4 level. He’s a tiger now and can block. Good take by Kelly.

As my userid says, I'm not obsessed with stars, etc. Having said that since I can't really judge his ability for myself (lack of information here), I would prefer a transfer who supposedly has raised his subjective rating from a HS prospect to a transfer prospect. You didn't mention this but he was unrated on 247 composite out of HS and now is 87 as you mentioned. In fairness, I will point out that Jackson the CB transfer went the opposite direction...high 4* out of HS, low 4* now.

We got him. So he’s terrible.

For a lot on this board, if he had transferred somewhere else, he would have been the best TE ever to play, but since he transferred to LSU, he's terrible. I don't think he has some transcendent talent, but he seemed pretty good based on the little time I saw him play.

That's not a very big discrepancy at all. One is the lowest 4*, and the other is a high 3*.

Because ratings and ranking are a non educated guess that fans live and die by.

This is some of the dumbest logic I’ve ever seen on this board. That’s not how this works at all

coming to LSU seems to be an auto downgrade with those folks.

He will be a solid TE, I watched him in the last game of the year and he seemed pretty good. He may struggle in blocking but none of LSU’s TE’s were killers in blocking either. Maybe they target the Klare kid now that Ole Miss poached Hasz away.
