I think he is a good QB for sure. My hoped areas for improvement would be:
1) running past the LOS when necessary...probably 4 times a game on average to keep the defense honest (he is no Reed or Sellars or Milroe running but fast enough to do some past the LOS)
2) his accuracy on long passes...his accuracy on short to intermediate was good, but for some reason, he either underthrew or overthrew on long routes. LSU receivers were open on long routes but the pass wasn't made to them. Maybe the WRers have some blame in their route running.

Nuss is a top qb in the sec next year.
Still need a backup but he’s really good and we saw this with Daniels last year.

If Nuss would've jumped in the portal, he would've been easily the most valuable player in the portal.
He's #6 in nation in passing yds and #13 in passing TDs
He'll probably end the season with 4,000 passing yds and close to 30 TD passes, but you wanted Arnold's 1,400+ passing yds and 12 TDs?

These two aren't comparable.
Anyone that LSU brings in will be a backup. There is no portal QB that would start over Nuss.
Mendoza is a good ACC QB. He's not very mobile and he accounted for a lot less scoring and yardage than Nuss against far inferior competition. Plus, with his experience, he will demand a starting spot where he ends up and he wouldn't start over Nuss at LSU.
