The kid has the right to choose whatever he wants.

But, if this is the reason he picks Clemson, it's pathetic.

Recruiting is a numbers game. LSU was truthful to him by explaining where he was on their board. And, the very second that the kid LSU had an offer out was no longer an option, they offered Etienne.

The truth is that if Etienne wanted to be the #1 target at RB, that just wasn't ever going to be the case at LSU.

Given the RBs LSU has produced, most people would view a real LSU offer at RB as a huge honor...not an insult.

I wish the kid the best.

Well is he supposed to be honored & excited about receiving an offer from Clemson after they couldn't get their first choice & only then, turned their attention to him late in the game?

Janzen is our fam too. Travis and he are two totally different people. Can't compare them any other way than by the bloodline. Janzen spent a lot of time back home after Tennessee too. And that trouble they got into is a direct reflection of "the company you keep. They don't even run in the same circle of people. Notice I only say stuff about stuff I know. Don't know those other kids story. I just know my home town and it's wicked whether or not some choose to believe it. Jawon wasn't a thug he wasn't even going to LSU on an athletic scholarship. It was academic and he was gunned down roughly 2 weeks before college. People gettin too technical and butt hurt bc I'm giving a scenario about a place I know well. Sheesh!

I agree. If he's choosing Clemson only because he feels slighted I hope he has reasonable adults guiding him. Don't cut your nose off to spite your face.

I hope he ends up in P&G but wish him well wherever he goes.

That says LSU saw less of him as RB although he was the closest to them. The push could have been harder (IMO). LSU doesn't owe the kid anything.

If he's going to Clemson because of sour grapes and sour grapes only, I think he's going to have some second thoughts when Watson-less Clemson will be on the same level if not lower than LSU for the forseeable future. Especially considering afrer Guice is leaving this year, and he could've been the featured back. But oh well, good luck to him

So why would he pick Clemson over LSU? Clemson is not 1hr and 30 minutes away from Jennings. That says LSU saw less of him as RB although he was the closest to them. The push could have been harder (IMO). If he isn't going to LSU because he's mad we offered late that's retarded. It doesn't matter when the offer comes, if it comes the school is interested in you. You get the same scholarship whether youre offered in 2015 or 2017.

even later backup plan. That's just the simple truth. That's why people are buying into him maybe having sour grapes or an ax to grind with LSU.

LSU is his state school. Their MO over the last 15 years is to identify in state talent early on and offer promptly. When they wait until a kids SR season is over that isn't going to sit well. Not when he has other great offers on the table. Clemson offering late is not insulting like LSU offering late.

Being in BR is like being in Jennings. I am saying that (excuse my bluntness), most young black people in Jennings want to get away. It's a harsh reality, our city is in trouble with no real example. He has an opportunity to be a great athlete wherever he goes. And I think he wants to give hope to those younger than him and even inspire some of the older people. He's not chasing LSU's legacy... he's creating his own. If you don't understand that then idk what to tell you. He not an average kids with no mind. So trouble I'm not concerned about with him. I just know first hand what the youth are exposed to out there.

Yeah that would be great to catch him at every home game! I'm just ready to support his journey.

Trust this decision (whatever it is), is not a blind choice. Different strokes for different folks.

People who think LSU fans react differently than any other major fan base are truly ignorant.

He does what he needs to do, no obligation to LSU.

LSU does what it needs to do, no obligation to this kid.

think it's ridiculous to pout that extent , but that's probably a reflection of his mental toughness and I'd say it's a warning sign that he doesn't have the toughness to play in the sec anyway.

Lol how delusional are you? The kid lacks mental toughness yet he has the world at his finger tips, can play just about anywhere he wants, and has a bunch of grown men sweating out HIS future life decision.

Did you think CEH was weak too whe he decomtted? What about Derrius Guice a few years ago? Not SEC material, huh?

You fricking clown. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so damn stupid

I said what I said bc that's how I felt. That's right down the street. Close enough to be home on a school night and still make it to an 8 o'clock class. You don't come home every weekend when you 11 hrs away.

You make it sound like he hates his state and our great university. Most la. kids would give their left nut to play for LSU. Like you said though, he is different. He would not be happy here.

The last two guys I can recall who made the public "escaping the game" argument about LSU were Gerald Willis and Duke Williams. Hell, even Jantzen Jackson's people threw that argument out. You don't want to associate a good kid like Travis to those guys or that vapid argument, in any way.

FTR, there is a huge difference between being "for Clemson" and being "against LSU" on an LSU message board. I know you get that.

Yeah, this is also stupid. Nothing would be better than the hometown hero welcoming he'd get if he went to LSU and did great things.
