Count me as a solid member of the Wade brigade.

In reality, it's the winning brigade. If McMahon (and he won't) wins as much or more than Wade did here, I'd be THRILLED, and would be a proud member of the McMahon brigade.

A lot of simpletons here think this is Wade versus McMahon. It ain't, it's WINNING VERSUS LOSING.

I'd be happy with Ted Bundy as our HC if he won big here.

See that’s the thing about fan support, they tend to forget about the losing and looking inept if you start winning. It heals all. If he can turn it around next year, he will be supported by everyone outside of the Wade Brigade.

Once shite gets this far down the road, very few recover to even be decent. Really goes for any sport, how many guys after being mediocre to bad turn things around at the same school to become a winning program? I really can’t think of many off hand.

And before someone says John Brady, by this point he had just won a SEC title and was in the Sweet 16. It's already over, they were just too cheap to end it.

Bruce Pear had 3 losing seasons including 6-13 and 0-11 his 3rd year before turning it around at Auburn.

Damn comparing McMahon to Bruce Pearl certainly won't backfire for you

No. They went 18-14. Dumbass NCAA redactions say they went 6-14. In that 3rd year he brought in two freshman that were the best players on that team and would be the best players on the team the next season when they won the SEC.
They were ascending whereas McMahon is clearly piloting a sinking ship to the point that his most ardent defenders want to tear it down to the studs. A clear indication of how terrible his program building has been for his first 3 seasons.

Bruce Pearl was a proven commodity at Tennessee…we are stuck with a below-average coach who is very bad at inspiring and motivating

I was willing to give McMahon some time, because I thought he was going to build through consistency and development, but I feel like we haven't had a single guard for more than one year since he got here. Frankly, the roster feels more inconsistent than ever, which is an indictment on the program that he built.

And Brady had legitimate sanctions working against him from the Dirty Dale days. John Brady is probably the most underappreciated coach in LSU history (in any sport).

That is wrong, Tiger breath. Dale Brown's first five seasons at LSU:

1972–73 LSU 14–10 9–9 5th
1973–74 LSU 12–14 6–12 8th
1974–75 LSU 10–16 6–12 7th
1975–76 LSU 12–14 5–13 9th
1976–77 LSU 15–12 8–10 5th

We need another Doctor. Unfortunate e paved the way but didn't get to share in the rewards as his eligibility ran out just as they burst on the national scene. He did play in the 1978 Kentucky game which transformed the LSU program. The Tigers sent notice there would be a new King of the Hill.

With the news of Chest and Williams entering the portal that means only ONE player (Reed) from his first 2 signing classes is still on the roster. He’s tried to “build and develop” a roster/program like he’s still at Murray St…in 2016.

That world of college basketball no longer exists. The guys who have embraced the transfer portal and are capable of taking significantly new rosters and making it work immediately have been the most successful. McMahon is late to the party that has been going on for 4 year. Probably too late to dig out of the hole it’s created.

LSU hired the wrong guy at the wrong time. The world of college basketball changed and LSU hired a guy who didn’t want to accept and adapt to it

To be fair when he was hired under the premise of rebuilding the roster and developing the program the transfer system and NIL had not become the wild, wild, west which has evolved. You can say he had the same opportunity as everyone else, but that is not accurate. There were 13 empty lockers when he arrived and he had to recruit with the NCAA investigation hanging over his head. It doesn't fricking matter what the sanctions ended up being , other schools used that against him. The resultant first losing season was another factor to overcome in 2023 recruiting. He had a decent portal haul and finished in the top half of the SEC. His 2024 recruiting class, this year's freshman group showed promise , but were inconsistent. This year's high school group seems to be at least equal if not better. There is nice foundation of young talent, but he will need a monster portal class this spring. I would agree he needs to make the NCAA tourney next year or its time to strongly consider a change. The next few weeks will show whether it was money which held back the recruiting.

How dare you say anything level headed

Don’t you know we HAVE to hate the coach and program and if you bring any sense to this board it means you are ignorant?

They also fired the right guy at the worst time. I’d can Woodward solely for LSU b-ball, but I’m a huge fan. If BK can’t muster much over next year or two, Woodward should be heavily scrutinized imo. He stabbed lsu basketball in the back as far as I’m concerned.

Well according to fat woody all McMahon needs is better talent to win. So Tennessee would be the perfect destination for MM
