No. Next question.

I just don’t understand how anyone could watch what he’s done with a career journeyman, a D2 transfer, a JUCO former underachiever, a DE sliding over, and 2 or 3 true freshmen and doubt what Bo Davis is about. And that’s on the heels of him completely overhauling Texas’ front 4 and getting a couple of former 3 stars drafted.

For lineman on both sides of the ball, ignore the stars and look at their offer list.

Zion Williams (DL) (4*) - Texas, Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, USC, Florida, Oklahoma, Ags, ND, Auburn, etc.

Jessee Harrold (Edge) (4*) - Ags, Miami, Florida, Auburn, Penn St.

Damien Shanklin (Edge) (4*) - Ohio St., Bama, Tennessee, Michigan, ND, Texas, Ags, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC, etc.

Walter Mathis, Jr. (DL) (3*) - Clemson, Auburn, Miami, Bama, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, USC, Florida, etc.

Brandon Brown (DL) (3*) - Tennessee, Texas, Miami, Ags, Florida, Georgia, FSU, USC, Ohio St., Auburn, Oregon, Michigan, Oklahoma, ND, etc.

Dilan Battle (DL) (3*) - Bama, Texas, Ags, USC, Michigan, Penn St., Auburn, Oregon, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida, etc.

I don't give a shite about stars! We have had MORE THAN ENOUGH 5 star, flameout duds then I care to think about.

If our current staff has identified them as having what THEY want to teach, regardless of stars, I'm in.

Great post. The big point is a lot of big time teams wanted these players, even if some fell off some in rankings and got recruited less there clearly was a lot of talent there getting a lot of big time programs interested in them enough to offer/recruit them.

Bo had some low ranked guys at Texas and developed them into draft picks:

- Byron Murphy II barely a Top 400 overall player - 1st round pick

- T'Vondre Sweat not a Top 600 overall 3-star player, 2nd round pick

- Moro Ojomo barely top 400 overall 3-star, drafted in NFL

Not to mention Zion is actually a 4-star, not a 3-star. We also have a strong chance to add a certain 5-star DT in this cycle as well..

Bo already secured a top 100 overall DT in Richard Anderson for 2026.

Stop star gazing and look at what’s actually going on. These guys are great prospects that Bo Davis loves.

Also, some of them are ranked 4 star anyway depending on the website you look at. 5-star Jahkeem Stewart will likely we joining them as well. It will be a great DL class.

No worries at all

It’s nice to have a dline coach that can actually recruit DTs, unlike Jamar Cain

Add Stewart the upside and perception of it goes through the roof. I'm not a believer in him but the potential that most are right about him(and me wrong) is enticing.

What are your concerns with Stewart? Honest question. I respect your opinion around here.

I think the thing everyone should have concern with Stewart is the kid is only playing 1 year of high school football (last year). Yes you can train and keep your body in shape but no live football action for 2/3 years coming into college (including the year before coming into college) is going to take some adjusting.

Stewart's measurables and athleticism are ridiculous for a guy his size, but simply not playing the sport much at all in high school should be a concern. Does that mean he will take 2-3 years to get going in college? No, he could be good his freshman year, it's just something to note.

I think so many people have this idea he will come in here next summer and take over a starting DT spot in the first week of fall practice or something. That might not happen.

I like Williams, Brown, and Mathis.

Williams' ranking really varies by the site, but On3 is high on him. He seems pretty balanced and has good offers.

Brown seems like more of a space eater, but he was committed to Texas and should be a good addition.

Mathis is a potential gem IMO. He looks quick and explosive on film, which I feel is what Bo wants. He might be a bit undersized for DT, and he doesn't seem to have a lot of length. His offers list tell the story IMO.

Battle is ranked a lot lower than the others, but he still has good offers. He's a NT type who should eat space.

Don't forget, Stewart could commit here and who knows if he'll play DE or DT, or be like Shand and do both.
