Any concern that we are recruiting (4) 3* DL for next year?

I'm assuming one will be a diamond in the rough but we used to get DL like they were growing off trees.

That’s what Bo does. He develops them. He did the same thing at Texas. No concern here. Look what he has done this year.

None at all. We’ve seen a thin D-line room before.

Battle is a stretch imo. I like the other 3.

I see two 4 stars and two 3 stars on the 2025 Recruiting post. Who are the four 3 stars?

I like our DL class. Do I think it's full of future stars? No but we don't need them to be.
I think Zion could be a star. Huge kid but more athletic than he gets credit for. Imo the most important kid in the class short of Underwood.
Battle is a guy you take and hope develops. Good frame and tools. Could be a rotational guy down the line.
Brown and Mathis are both sawed off gap shooters with leverage advantages that they use well. Personally I believe kids like these 2 are Bo's "type". Lot of tools in 6'1 300 frames with twitch.
On the edge you've got Shanklin and Harold who are both toolsy, upside guys. Think Shanklin can be what Swinson is. I'll take that.
If we get a couple of starters and a couple of rotational guys out of the 6, it's a success. Turn a couple into early draft picks and it's potentially special.
Add Stewart the upside and perception of it goes through the roof. I'm not a believer in him but the potential that most are right about him(and me wrong) is enticing.

Our DL THIS YEAR is fairly thin yet Bo Davis has done a great job coaching them up. I have absolutely no worries at DL at all as long as Bo Davis is here.

A stretch that 105 scholarships affords.

You never know.

Williams, Shanklin, Harrold and Brown are all 4 stars.

Where are you getting (4) 3 stars?

Not if Bo Davis is recruiting them. Not even a little.

You’re right, we should only go after 3 star players.

The staff was really high on Mathis, Brown and Williams.

My recollection from Bo's time at Texas is that he came in with Texas having some high ranked DL that were underperforming thus leading to his blowing up on them after the game. His recruiting there included a lot of less touted DL, but they performed better than the higher ranked players on roster.

This leads me to believe Bo is not only very good at developing talent, but also at identifying it regardless what their ranking may be.

In short, no, I'm not concerned.

I actually like all 4 kids. I think they can all contribute in their own way.
