We could use experienced depth at center
I guess he would need a waiver? Hard to know the transfer rules these days.
Why? He still gets 1 free, that has not changed.

Was he the center when A&M ran the ball down our throat all game?

Natural position is tackle. He was moved to center out of need.
Well then, he isn’t coming to LSU - not with the monsters we have at tackle.

Kelly has been entertaining Centers he since he got here. We were after that Miami center, I believe if he thinks he’s got a legit chance to land him he will. He likes Turner as a leader, play calling, and smarts, but CBK wants all that in Dawg, Charles ain’t that Dawg.

Talk about sticking it to Jumbo if we got him and d. Harris.

Texas pays all their lineman what 100k a year? What are we paying?

He really only played last year because of injury.
played in all 12 games last year, started 9
regardless of why he played, that's good SEC experience as a freshman

He's been passed up on their depth chart by younger players. And to hear the A&M side they've missed badly on offensive lineman these last three cycles.

He was 2nd on the depth chart at OC as of 3/26/23.

Per their practice reports Nabou has been running first team center all spring, Strickland second team.

Interesting. Is Foster still injured?

I think he's out for spring because he's doing track.

I wonder if maybe he had told coaches that he as looking to transfer and that is why others were working out on the 1st and 2nd team in practice.
Posted on 4/13/23 at 4:04 pm to LSU Patrick
That could very well be true

Fact is Wykoff was just a replacement for Foster who was much better at center.
Foster as a true freshman had a near 70 PFF grade. Wykoff as a redshirt freshman graded out 52.5 last season which is obviously much worse.
People are seeing this freshman all SEC award for him not realizing his only competition for that was the Missouri center who had a PFF grade below 50 and sucked. So he almost won it by default since there was only 1 other person he was competing against.

Think SEC waiver and not NCAA waiver. The SEC still has a Feb. 1 deadline for inter-conference transfers to have immediate eligibility. Since Wykoff missed that deadline, he would have to get a waiver from the SEC or he has to sit out a year in residence at the new school. So, if he is looking for immediate playing time, the odds are good he is going out of conference.
