Montverde Academy is a good place to get a foot in, recruiting wise. Hopefully, Givens can help us out there

We’re currently already top 20. We’re at 17 on 247 and then 12 for on3 i’m pretty sure. If we close out on a few more recruits, it could very well be a top 10 class.

Excellent unexpected win on the recruiting trail. With this class he's done what he's had to do. Use connections to get top players (Miller - LSU legacy; Givens - Tennessee native)
LSU appears to have developed a pipeline (not just in basketball) to the Baltimore area (Freshman Mike Williams is from there, and Wade had done a good job in the Beltway before McMahon). Maybe that could help with another surprise recruit in Derik Queen from Baltimore who is a teammate of Givens at Montverde. He also previously attended the same HS in Baltimore as LSU football player Da'Shawn Womack and WBB player Angel Reese. Tyrell Ward is also from the area (Washington DC) and went do DeMatha in Maryland.
Recruiting is about relationships.
My sincere hope is that after a very rough and eye-opening first year McMahon is figuring out how to operate in the world of major conf. basketball...both on the court and on the recruiting trail.

I was thinking the same thing. Getting givens helps our case tremendously with Queen.
