What top notch coach (who will almost certainly be in a better position) will come to LSU on probation?
I realize Woodward likes to throw a lot $ at coaches, but I just don't see a great hire being made in these circumstances.
Not only would they need to be an upgrade to Wade to excite the fanbase but they would need to be squeaky clean too.
Yeah...lot of those guys out there.

Time to start putting together tape on the upcoming tuba section for next season.

Even if I may have taken a different approach, LSU firing Wade was justified. But the timing by the school and NCAA was calculated and vindictive. This has been going on for three years and they “suddenly” finished their investigation the week postseason starts in CBB?
This was very calculated and vindictive. And it was tied to football knowing our AD would roll over and allow it to happen.
Unless we hire a big name in the next 2-3 weeks (which I do not see happening), I would be shocked if we keep any player that saw meaningful playing time.

At least we don't have to worry about LSU stealing NIL pool money from football or baseball now to stay clean with the death penalty coming.
More money for recruits in baseball/football.

Come back from what? LSU is not a basketball powerhouse dummy

Going to another that can pay
Ironic, huh?

We were heading that way with Wade. Now it'll be back to the Trent/Johnny days.

Woodward isn’t calling recruits like he did in football to keep a class together?

It’s no secret that LSU was going to have to offer incentives to get some of the top level recruits in order to compete with many other schools that were on a different level, but that alone would not have been enough because many, if not most, of those other programs were doing the same. Make no mistake about it though, a big part of his recruiting success was due to recruits and players appreciating how he was able to communicate and coach them in a way that was very respected.

Don’t tell the Scott tards that. They believe woody can do no wrong. They can’t even admit that firing wade and having the team find out via Twitter was a massive frick up and piss poor operation’s management

The problem with college basketball is the that the blue bloods already have the avenues to funnel money to players in place. Ones that don’t involve the head coach doing anything. Wade was trying to get us to that level and he got sloppy.

It’s just a sport played between football and baseball. Basketball sucks and LSU is not a basketball school.

it was fun to be relevant in CBB recruiting for a bit there
I think we're looking at a Mike Brey type hire. He's won enough to sell some fans on, probably realizes he's about maxed out at ND, can now pad the retirement account with a big pay day from LSU because our options are limited with looming sanctions.

Was looking forward to Devin coming to Baton Rouge, and putting on that yella jersey, mayne

Will they have to give the money back?

Yeah and it's obvious that the Networks like having Ky, Duke, North Carolina and other Blue Bloods in the tournament each year. More money! So they hire talking heads like Vitale and Forde to attack any small program that tries to break out into the top echelon, and then boost the reputations of the top programs..
Wade mentioned, several months ago, that its a positive for the conference when Kentucky is good. The conference gets more publicity.

Devin, we hardly knew ye.

That's not hyperbole in this day and age of player empowerment.
As written, sure it is. Albeit, it is probably not far from being correct.

I mean there might not be a SINGLE SCHOLARSHIP player left on the team.
If you add that word in there, then it is not hyperbole. And I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you meant that.
