Currently committed to ULL, visiting this weekend. Looks like the spatula is still out.

Fortunately, they've earned our trust.

Some morons will melt over this though.

The term "developmental project" likely applies here. Haven't watched any tape but have to assume he's raw but has the upside where the staff is willing to take a chance on him.

Not going to shite on Kelly for this because he needs bodies, but 3-star recruits aren't going to cut it if you want to beat Alabama, especially on the DL. People are going to find out this Saturday why you need 4-star or better recruits at almost every position if you even want a chance against Bama. Sure, there are 3-star players who have breakout years and end up being gamechangers but those are the EXCEPTION, not the norm.

That and offers to these lower ranked Louisiana guys that are potentially diamonds in the rough should be more common this recruiting cycle simply based on the fact that we have a lot more spots to fill than usual. Like 10-15 more spots than usual. Additionally CBK said, as a general philosophy he would rather fill those spots with high school players than transfer portal players.

Knowing Kelly he may have plans to move the kid to TE or bulk him up for DT. Time will tell.

Not saying this is the case, but Mathieu and Jetts say hi.

Well shite... if anyone can make it through the Junction Boys camp without quitting or getting killed then I'd say they have the heart and mental-strength of a 5-star

And we will sign like 35 kids so you shouldn’t have an issue with him taking a kid who he’s evaluated and determined to be worth an offer given the flexibility that those numbers allow this year

he says he runs a 4.7 and he's coming off injury but some teams were waiting to see his senior tape. He's super quick off the ball. When you can have a large signing class, he fits in perfectly.

The fact people take a star rating as gospel is wild to me. It’s typically indicative of talent and is in a lot of cases a good guide but in no way is it the be all, end all that people make it out to be.

Highly rated kids flame out, less highly rated kids develop into some of the best plays in CFB.

EXCEPTION

Plenty of great tigers who contribute and start come in as three stars. Even ones that don’t end up being top 5 NFL WRs like Jetts or All-Pro Heisman finalists like Mathieu. Gotta trust the coaches evaluation. Most of the defensive players in LSUs secondary were three stars from Louisiana that went elsewhere, yet they’re playing just as well as Stingley, Ricks, and McGlothern did last season.

I think most on here would be ok with signing Harvey Broussard, & this guy is ranked like 300 spots above him.

He's ranked 24th in the state. This isn't exactly a huge reach.

Have you seeen our DL class? especially on the edge. It isn't exactly filled with bad prospects...maybe look again. Taking this kid with potential as a 4th edge in the class is not a bad idea at all. I mean you can't seriously type this shite as we have the #4 ranked class as it sits.

Alabama - 4 three stars
Georgia - 4 three stars

georgia signed 8 three stars last year. Maybe do some research.

Damn this guy can run. I think he can bulk up to 260-270 and retain that explosiveness.

ETA: this 23 class doesn’t have many 300lb war daddies like previous cycles. The game has changed and guys aren’t getting to that size in HS and being effective unless they’re freaks.
