This is just one example compared to the other sites.
I noticed this for a few other players. Does a Bama guy run the site?

Should I go with On3 ? 24/7 was the one I've been following.

On3 is way better than 247 now. Roll with On3.

Just go with the one that has LSU guys ranked the highest, they're the best.

What if I told you the same Bama fan started every major recruiting site sans ESPN?

I go with 0n3 because they took most of the good people from 247. 247 is still a damn good functioning recruiting service though.

Rivals is a shell of itself and ESPN is just trash.

This. Don’t pay any attention when either of them are the outliers. It’s a little more interesting when the difference is between 247 and On3, since they are both legit. If you want a real composite ranking, it should be those two averaged.

Easy to see variance in overall ranking if the positional ranking is somewhat close.

Also, the 2025 class is all 16-17yo Juniors. I’m sure the recruiting services will more closely align throughout Senior seasons

Apparently so! This year's 247 itself 5* leaders by states. Texas 6...Florida and Alabama 5 each. Oh, and BTW, LA has a grand total of 1 BARELY making it. Obviously, I don't believe that a GIGANTIC state like Texas can only have 1 more 5* than Alabama. And Florida and Alabama the same despite the obvious huge difference in population. Anyone who believe any of this is really possible, I have some great land in Arizona to sell you...water not a problem.

I don't disagree. It's the same logic that says player #32 is a 5* while #33 is a 4*. They make it up as they go along.

The ranking for Berry isn’t actually all that different—they have him as RB2 instead of RB1. The difference is bc 247 ties their rankings to the nfl draft (so that they can evaluate their success after the fact), so RBs will naturally be pushed down a bit. As for Antoine, it may just be one of those guys.

By the way - note that on3 isn’t actually consistently better or consistently higher on lsu commits. For example, 247 has been far higher on Billiot all along

I cannot express in the proper words how utterly silly this is

It's been said on here an I agree with this approach, look at the kids offer list. If the big boys are offering and the kid is lowly rate by the recruiting services there is a good chance the kid is being overlooked by the services. For example 2025 recruit Jaylen Bell is 3 star but committed to LSU and offered by UGA, FSU, Auburn, etc.

As myself and others have said for quite a while, the entire basis for services' rating system is fatally flawed. First, the ratings are for NFL potential 4 years from now...who the hell cares!! The HS players sign for college not for pro. I need to try to hunt down Fox Sports ratings of HS players. I have seen their definitions of star categories and they are spot on. Second, anyone paying attention over the years has seen the undervaluation of LA players. Whether it is bias or the guys just don't want to spend time watching players from Podunk, LA, I don't know. But it clearly is there! How in the world can the state of LA have so many players as stars in college and pro football yet have so few very highly ranked players out of HS. That isn't whining...that is simply pointing out a FACT proven over the years. And for Alabama to have 5 of the supposed best 32 players this class is

I had always gone to 247 and like the layout and formatting of their site, but if I want more up to date and accurate information I go to On3.

Patrick Queen immediately comes to mind.
