Gervin played for the San Antonio Spurs. Shaq played at Cole HS in San Antonio and Jerrell Colbert is from San Antonio.

Was simply thanking San Antone Hoops lore for my two childhood favs. And well remember Dale's NY hauls of Jerry Ice Reynolds and Bernard Woodside,etc..

Gervin's Finger Roll was majestic..he and Pistol Pete could teach clinics to today's generation that are allergic to glass and bank shots.

But Colbert made it clear that LSU prioritized him and pursued him harder than the other interested schools.

It's going to be interesting to see how 2020 finishes up. Wade's been recruiting the bigs hard with interest from 2021 guys like Jonathan Kuminga, Moussa Cisse, Jabari Smith and Frank Anselem, and talk of one of them re-classifying to this year.

6-9 with a large wingspan is fine

6'9" with decent wingspan is perfectly fine as a 5. Totally good with that height. We are doing fine this year with a 6'6" center so 6'9" will be great.

Jordan Mickey was 6'7 without shoes on and probably our best rim protector we've had at LSU since Shaq.

It's because he had a 7'3 wingspan and could jump really well for a 6'7 guy (38" max vert).

This notion you have to have some 7 foot center to be able to protect the rim is beyond old thinking.

is he though? he's only 6'9. I'm not trying to argue just genially curious. my knowledge of bball isn't the best. I thought true 5s in todays game were at least 6'11. although there is still time to grow. And any height I see on 247 I assume is taller than reality.
