Georgia is considered a “public Ivy”

Hell no it isn't

Georgia Tech, sure

Yes we all know UGA has higher admission standards, highly populated state with lottery scholarships (HOPE) has increased the standards dramatically there. But to call it a public Ivy? With Georgia Tech next door? No.

Im personally not a fan of going after pure dual threat quarterbacks. There's only so many Cam Newton's and Tim Tebow's in a decade and ever since they played in college it seems like everyone is chasing after "athletes" to play quarterback. It works in highschool but alot of them get exposed in college. We have a better chance going after a 5* pro style QB and having him actually pan out. Not saying we shouldn't knock on every door, I just like our chances with pro style over dual threat in games and in recruiting. (Joe Burrow leans to be a more mobile pro style QB and can get some yards with his feet, but he's no Lamar Jackson when he's running the ball)

Wow I'm looking at clemsons class and whos left on the board that is trending to them... holy shite. They literally look like they will get 4 of the top 5 recruits and that doesnt even include DJ at qb.

Pod of Geauxld mentioned him this week and said he is suddenly very high on this new offense. Looks like a recent development.

Sorry, dont care what some random site says. It's ridiculous to call like 40 universites public ivies, automatically discredits itself there. Ivy is the elite of the elite, you dont stretch that out that far.

To call GT a runner up and UGA in is absolutely hilarious. GT folks make fun of UGA. I've lived around ATL most of my life, to call UGA a public ivy will have anyone but UGA homers laughing. another reason to automatically discredit this list.

Any Tech person laughing at UGA as a school now is an idiot. Fact is UGA is a top 15 to 20 public university and is respected. LSU is down at bottom of the SEC with the Mississippi schools. You really have no room to talk about academics. Stick to football.

Academically, Alabama will soon be a public ivy too if their recent trend continues. Whether deserved or not, Bama is attracting students with great academic credentials.

Would never allow my kid to go there because it’s still the same old dumb arse profs that were there 10 years ago who sound like they just crawled out of a trailer.

Penn State
Georgia
Clemson
Stanford
LSU

They’re still donating. Just less than they used to.

And there will be more oversight as to where the funds are allocated specifically instead of just writing one big check and handing it over to the university to spend where ever the hell they want to spend it.

bullshite. We have no idea to what extent the offensive improvement is due to Brady. At one time the majority of ranters thought our recruiting success depended on that little hollow-chested office assistant (I forgot his dweeb name). “Pay him!” The Rant chanted. Turns out he was nothing.

Maybe the offense is 90% dependent on Brady. Maybe it’s 5%. Orgeron will sort through it and decide. I’m fine with his decision as long as he continues to...Just win baby!

LOL, no, they most definitely are not. People that cant get into GT still go to UGA, sorry.

Any list calling UGA a public ivy and GT not one is absolutely laughable and I will continue to laugh at it every single time.
